Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo should have hired Treasure to make Starfox

What do you think?

Yes, Treasure should have gotten a go 19 41.30%

No, it's better off with Miyamoto + Platinum 27 58.70%

Total:46

Am I the only one confident in Miyamoto AND Platinum? I think he still has something to give as a head of a main project. It's not like his imagination completely ran out or something. He did after all influence the young devs of Splatoon to create a more appealing game when it was in its initial stages. Though I haven't personally tried the game myself yet (which is somethin that will help me judge the game better). And it's not like the gamepad is necessary, it just provides a different experience. Gyro controls have already been confirmed to be an option.

I'd rather it be made by Nintendo than anyone else. I don't really like how some of their games are made outside of the company now.

get those guys to make a new Sin & Punishment

Don't tease me like that, I would drag my dick through a blackberry thicket to play Sin & Punishment 3... :(

Record that and you'd become a millionare.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Problem is Miyamoto (who is stressing the cockpit and gyro aiming gameplay ) is the leader of this project and Treasure would still have to follow his orders.

That said, I remember the gyro aiming can be turned off and you can easily move the cockpit view to the TV and back on the fly. The only annoying thing is the lack of local or online competitive multiplayer and tapping the right stick twice to barrel roll instead of shoulder buttons.

Star fox wiiu should be played. Im sure its gonna br ok dont worry ;)

You don't simply slap an Arwing into a S&P game and say that's how Star Fox should be. For one thing, Star Fox was never simply on rails shooter and people really need to get that out of their heads. Isa and Kacchi a very slow moving throughout most of the game and the action relies on you being slower paced while the enemies swarm you. Movement, traversal and overall gameplay is very different because of that reason.
Yes Star Fox 64 was majorly on rails, but it was never meant to stick to that formula and should never stick to that formula. At best it should be more like Kid Icarus Uprising's flight levels, which if I recall correctly started off as a Star Fox game.
S&P really should get more recognition and installations in the series and in terms of on rails it blows Star Fox out of the water, but Star Fox should never simply aim to emulate it.

Kind of agree, also didn't the canned Star Fox 2 original have full 3D movement as well? I don't think the series was intended to ever be on rails only.

It wasn't.

Star Fox 64 wasn't.

They are both very different archetypes, and I don't think S&P fits the SF mold.

S&P is more like Omega Boost, which was the tits.

I don't really think Platinum will do a bad job with this game but all of the big three are spreading the company thin with all of the requests for their expertise. Nintendo has had two games made for them by this company alone. They need to give it a rest. I would devote my resources into expanding retro studios like Sony did with Naughty Dog so they can pump out more games.

Star Fox 64 is my favorite Nintendo game of all time. I dont know what Nintendo is doing with that franchise.

One way or another, Nintendo should get Treasure on their side regardless of Starfox.

Star Fox Zero isnt out yet, so people really need to wait actually release and then say what Nintendo could do with game.
