Of course it does. The vast majority of people are perfectly capable of going about there daily lives without being mean and nasty to one another that vast majority of time.

There are still many  people who don't know how to carry out a rational conversation without using "I'm offended" or "that's (blank)" as a cop-out argument.

No no no, those infants would be perfectly fine with eachother, but once they go out in the world and see different things, they will judge them, they will classify them. Its a surival mechanism. That is human nature. And it turns into prejudice. Prejudice can be positive feelings too. Like how we, as babies at least, worship our mothers, and are nervous and sometimes even scared around other people. Unless you lack your basic survival instincts, then you are like this too. As is every human.

"Some of us are able to maintain an open mind" is basically a way of saying you're better than everyone else... That's not very nice you know.
Breaking down your own sense of prejudice is nice, but you won't ever get rid of it in every aspect of life. That's just silly.

What grinds my gear is the whole cultural appropriation thing. There is a difference between appreciating/partaking in a culture and disrespecting one. Some people going out of their way to stop people from enjoying another culture, saying: ''you can't do this, it's cultural appropriation'', when most of the time the people of that said culture appreciate sharing and teaching about their culture.

That proves my point, human nature is not what you pointed out here it's simply identifying another human being and surviving like any other animal only difference is that we developed advance modes of thought compared to other animals, what you pointed here is nurture, people are like how you described because it's a flaw in our society not nature.

if someone doesn't have an open mind to things then sorry I don't have to be nice about it and neither does anyone else, people can be taught something but if someone doesn't have the openess to use the brain they've been given to understand things from different angles rather then a fixed point of view then it can lead to more problems as they're limiting their understanding which can lead to ignorance which is one of the most dangerous traits, Tesla said it best in that "limited minds are dangerous with unlimited power".

Saying racism is nature is just giving people an excuse, it's not a natural trait it's a taught one that exists due to the flaws of society itself, two infants won't display such behaviour because as Bill Nye pointed out the is no different race groups in humans. Skin colour and features are the results of generations being in certain environments and it's likely the first humans themselve were all the same in that regard until they fanned out across the planet.

Stop. Just stop. No, we are not born with racism. I never said that. We are born with a system in our brains (this includes you, get down from your pedistal) that leads us to classify and judge people and things, to make it easier for us to understand the world, which in turn will lead to biases and prejudice. 1. That's untrue. An company doesn't have to hire a black applicant over a white applicant, and they often don't. In a recent study it was found that people with white sounding names typically needed to send out 10 resumes to get a callback, people with black sounding names needed to send out 15. Statistically speaking, that's an enourmous gap. On top of that, the unemployment rate for black college graduates is more than twice the national average.

2. There are however still quotas and percentages that need to be adhered to for schools and buisinesses regarding minority groups, though I suspect that you'll see that change to economic quotes in the future, at least for schools.

As for the rest of your post, that's the price we pay for our free speech. I have a right to say pretty much whatever I want, and it's a right I excercise regularly, but I'm also fully aware that there are consiquences. If you say that something that's going to piss people off, you'd better be ready for people to be pissed off.

Having the right to say whatever you want also means you're responsible for everything you say.
