The uncharted series isnt really that huge here in the US. In october the remaster sold less than 300k when Sony has been saying that most PS4 owners havent played an uncharted. I expect the game to sell like previous installments in the series. Also does anyone know when NPD is for January?

Uncharted 3 helped the PS3 go up 70% YoY and it sold 700k in the same month that had releases like CODMW3, BF3, and Skyrim.

TLOU has since shown big numbers, so I think it is much harder to predict Uncharted 4.

I expect low hardware for April, because it is April. But Uncharted 4 SW might surprise.

Yeah but the thing is that the ps4 will probably have 5 million less consoles in the US by the time uc4 comes out compared to uc3, and uc3 came out during a holiday month so it got a bit of a extra sales. Hopefully that the heavy bundleing of the collection could introduce some new fans yo the series.

Problem with that is The Last of Us did almost 1m in a non holiday month. Install base is largely irrelevant, its more hype and FW to legs ratio.

They should just put amiibos in the toys section instead

This, so much this!!!

Amiibos, Skylanders and every other toy gimmick dont belong to the Video Game section.

Something tells me they're not gong to cater to a thread on VGC that follows Amazon sales.

The last of us wasnt an uncharted game it was just a new ip that ended up doing well.

I'm not entirely sure I see your point. TLOU was a new IP and as such isn't something you would expect to outsell established franchises, but it did because of how special it was. Here we have the 4th installment (and the last) of the Uncharted series, made by the same people that made the most accomplished Uncharted game and the most awarded video game in history. Uncharted 4 will sell a HUGE amount of PS4s.

Well yes i agree in most cases you wouldn't expect a new ip to outsell a bug series but it had a bigger userbase so it out sold it in the US but life time it didnt. Also i think uc4 will move a lot of ps4s WW and it will do pretty good here in the US but nothing really major.

Edit- i apologize for any mistakes in grammer/spelling since im using my phone.

It depends on how you define 'major'. We know that Star Wars sold over 1m bundles and I see no reason why UC4 wouldn't do the same, in fact, because of the many options Sony have with this bundle (and the vanilla bundle), I can see it steadily selling consoles all year:

UC4 LE Bundle ($400)
UC4 LE + TLOUR Bundle ($400)
UC4 LE + TLOUR + Uncharted Collection Bundle ($420)
UC4 Vanilla Bundle ($350)
UC4 Vanilla + TLOUR Bundle ($350)
UC4 Vanilla + TLOUR + Uncharted Collection Bundle ($370)
Naughty Dog LE + TLOUR + Uncharted Collection (for Christmas) ($400)

Well put.

Thanks. There's the small problem of March Sony need to overcome and the more than likely cannibalisation of PS4 sales. What Sony need to do in March is make sure some people buy a console for that month and not April. The best way of doing that is to sell a Vanilla PS4 with a preorder code for UC4 and price it at $350. Digital code bundles don't sell as well as hard copy bundles but I believe it would keep the boat steady and wouldn't cut too much into the LE bundle, which could run all year, as I've pointed out above. They really do need to do that ND Bundle with a new colour and the ND symbol on the PS4.
