To me Donkey Kong TF is a far superior game than Splatoon, I still love Splatoon though.

I bet Splatoon moved more consoles than even 3D World, so no contest for DK.

And yeah, Retro missed their chance: while Tropical Freeze is a great game, it's also unambitious and more of the same. Even if they wanted to work with DK again, they should've made it a 3D game at least, or maybe one that actually used the main feature of the console: the gamepad. What about online coop? Nope, same old game with a plus: extremely outdated graphics.

I'd bet "Metroid Prime 4" would've sold less than DKC: TF did. Prime 3 didn't even do *that* great considering how big the Wii userbase was. c.

someone didn't grow up with an SNES... That was pretty much the game that led SNES over Genesis in popularity IIRC.

people just didnt want another DK game so soon,thats what it came down to

even though its a great game,its just not something people wanted
