Lets bring this back, and maybe I will start cooking!

I'm always cooking... but stuff more basic than this, interesting thread idea for VGChartz though, need a tag and a read later.

The idea was actually sound. Too bad the audience didn't bite. You should still consider the youtube approach, since you obviously have a passion.

“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).

"Did you guys expected some actual rational fact-based reasoning? ...you should already know I'm all about BS and fraudulence." - FunFan, VGchartz (2016)

I shall revive this thread (maybe)

Post it, I want to basically start getting into cooking. Due to parents cultural beliefs I cannot use wine or pork.

I missed this thread OMG!

Tagging this.

I'll post some of the stuff I cook later.

How about this simple recipe?  My parents called it Eggy in a Hole but it goes by many other names.

You take a piece of bread and butter both sides of it then you cut a small hole (big enough for an egg) in the middle of the bread. Throw the bread and the hole cutout onto a frying pan and start cooking it. Crack an egg and drop it in the middle where you created the hole. Let it cook on one side for a little and then flip (I suck at flipping reg fried eggs but with eggy in a hole it is pretty easy to flip a fried egg). I like to cook it to where it is still runny egg that way the runny oozes out onto the bread.

Ingredients: bread, butter, egg

I make good scrambled eggs. Just ask the weirdos in Skype chat

The secret is low heat, mixing eggs with a fork, and continuing to stir like a risotto.

Do you use shredded cheese and milk in your scrambled eggs?  I don't even drink milk anymore but that was one trick I picked up from my mom was adding a little milk to the mix.

My sisters love making that actually!

Another cool way to do it is with milk cream and a bit of butter! Salt and pepper and a bit of parsley on top.

Basic omelette meal right here

10 min complete cook time.

2 eggs, 1 small onion, water, 2 slices of cheese, some slices of Ham, salt, pepper, heat, Bread / Canned Spaghetti.

non stick frying pan

Fire up a ring to not quite full heat I find, leave the pan on their, I use a tiny amount of oil and no butter.

Break eggs into a bowl and about the same amount of water as the size of one of the 2 eggs, mix them up, chop up the onion really fine and chuck it in put some salt in to taste, gotta be a small onion like...  smaller than either egg! mix um all up.

Then once the pan is fully heated up just pour in the mix and let it alone... you can whisk it a bit if you want to get a fluffier omelette but you can happily just leave it be, if you have a smaller pan you might have more liquid egg up top so you'll have to tilt it as it cooks to allow the liquid pour off the sides and under the solidifying mass of lovely egg.

as soon as it's mostly solid on top time to get out your cheese and ham and tear it up around the side of the omelette oppisite where you are standing at the cooker (will make it easier to flip over), sprinkle on some pepper if you want more inside or don't if you aren't a fan of the stuff.

As long as you're sure there is no more liquid egg material slide your flip under the close half of the egg and flip it over to close the omelette up, leave it another minute or so and sprinkle some salt/pepper on top to taste.

Chuck the bread in the toaster.

Heat up the spaghetti in another pan on the same ring while you take the omeletta pan off to serve it into a plate.

when that's heated add to the plate and the toast should be just about ready to pop.

Enjoy!

it takes a few tries to get this right in a way that isn't just fried scrambled eggs but once you get it right it's a very cheap very nice meal, one of the biggest markups in cooking too, I mean if you consider the cost of the materials here are less than 60c and in a cafe you'll be very lucky to get a Omelette for under €10.

Edit - Price of materials does not include cost of Star Ocean for the X360! That's a dessert meal.
