My monitor, which is my main gaming screen, is 21.5". I also have a 43" TV which is mainly used for gaming and Youtube videos. Both screens are 1080p, which I'm perfectly happy with. Any less, and it would look pretty bad, and any more, and it would go to waste until I got a good job, and probably largely even after that. In my opinion, 4k offers diminishing returns (although I imagine the difference is still possible to see, and not even that hard to see). But at 1080p, things already look pretty smooth. The main reason I could want a 4k monitor is to be able to fit more windows on the screen at once.

I have a 4k screen, trust me, it makes a big difference.

I'm sure I'll get one eventually but getting equipment that can play games in 4k is pretty expensive for a student. As a downside, anything that's not the native resolution of a screen usually looks like garbage, so if I got a 4k monitor, I'd have to be upgrading my PC constantly to be able to play games in 4k. Student not like.

My 390 can handle 4k pretty well already. I mean, it's not running everything in 4k by any means, but it can do most pretty damn well.

I'm thinking "cheap" premium, in the 20.000-25.000SEK area!

1440p gaming works really well on an EVGA 980Ti as well!

Know how you feel about gaming on consoles; I played some FIFA with my dad over christmas but I haven't really spent any huge amount of time on a console game since Uncharted 3 and Gran Turismo 6. Currently playing MGS5 on PC with a 360 controller, works great (and it's the most stable game I ever tried in the 8th gen, constant frame rates without a single dip)!

20K Swedish kronor.... ouch. But not unreasonable.

Oh yeah you lucky bastard had a 980Ti!
But what about games that don't support 1440p? Doesn't it look blurry you play in 1080p with that monitor?

Nah, it looks good, even PS2 emulator games look good despite the skewed or narrowed aspect ratio res. Great display!

I got a 23 inch Explasionator Apex PoonJumbler that I like to hook up with my Tritton 345XxxXX Garbleschlomper to kill some noobs. Then I grab my KontrolFreek Tripod FuelPecs and toss on my Beats by Que headset, with the volume dialed up to eleventeen so I can hear the footsteps of mein enemies.
A true Gamer Dude never forgets his Gekkkko xPrecipitatex JizzStamper R700 skin for his custom QuadSquare Rhombus Synergy controller.
Next, I grab a nice deep bowl to pour in my special edition 20/20 Doritos Fajita Blitzkrieg FalafelRaptor snax.
And never forget that vital item for all you game assassins: the CootSmasher Grind Black Optic Heterosexual gaming chair that can be adjusted in 1 different directions.

Okay, but I wonder why all non-native resolutions look blurry on my 1080p monitor.

Anyway, it's good to be a PC gamer isn't it.

i had a 17" for my Pc, but now i just use a 50" tv for my Pc and all my consoles

It really is! Especially now that I moved and have a 500Mbit line as well!

I use same 28" screen for both PC and consoles.

32" 4k/ips/anti-glare monitor for both PC and consoles

No HDTV... Just 25" CRT TV for vintage consoles.

I have a small Room, so 24" monitor and Tv for me :(

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

Simple enough question, how big is your gaming screen?

55".  Here is a pic that shows part of my setup...

I once had a 60" in The Alcove (this TV room of course), but I moved in into the living room for "casual" viewing when folks are over.  I'll have more pics of my current setup hopefully soon.  I'm like 90% there.
