Lol the software sales aren't going to increase linearly with console sales like that. You can't just say that splatoon is at 4m on a console that had sold 12m, so multiply the console sales by 3, and you can clearly see that it can easily reach 10m+. I can see Spla2n (lol) reaching 7m+ if the Wii u successor sells well.

Especially if they continue with the Splatoon advertising/marketing idea (Concerts, Manga, Anime, Theme Parks).

Assuming that Splatoon 2 will be on handheld too, very possible.

I never tried to prove anything linearly increasing with consoles, all of the facts I introduced were to get my prediction of 10m to seem reasonable enough. Any correlation it seems I may have tried to prove with units and copies were completely coincidental. And I can see why you would think that was the point I was trying to make, sorry.

It's ok hylianyoshi. I can see it doing 10m+ if they sell like 80m consoles or something. 

From someone who definitely leans Sony... i LOVE Splatoon!!!! I hope it does 10+ million! If it dethroned COD I wouldn't even mind annual releases of it!! (which would never happen, just saying)

Heck, even 7-9 million would be pretty good if you ask me!

If it's easy to get into but hard to master, looks beautiful and vibrant retaining the Nintendo level of excellence it may certainly sell 10 million in the install base can support those kind of numbers.

Hopefully Nintendo will learn from Splatoon that they can make new IP that achieve the same level of success if not more than Mario and Zelda and give us a better first party line up.
