Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Looking back: best graphics on Wii?

The winner is...

Kirby's Epic Yarn 9 2.15%

Muramasa The Demon Blade 9 2.15%

Mario Galaxy 39 9.31%

Mario Galaxy 2 198 47.26%

Metroid Prime 3 58 13.84%

Red Steel 2 17 4.06%

Monster Hunter Tri 16 3.82%

Sonic Colours 9 2.15%

Other 64 15.27%

Total:419

I think overall Skyward Sword was the best. It could pass as your average Wii U game with ease (that makes me imagine how cool would be a remake for it).

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Judging by by your list, I'm assuming you mean aesthetics. I'd undoubtably say Super Mario Galaxy.

I doubted that technically advanced titles like Conduit 1/2, Jett Rocket, Fast Racing League, or Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles would get many votes; ultimately only 10 slots were available for poll options, so I went with the ones I remembered seeing the most visual praise for in the past.

Call me crazy, but I liked Super Smash Bros. Brawl's graphics a lot. I think they are the best on Wii.

The last story and skyward sword :)

Super Mario Galaxy (and 2) are stunning to this day. Not just the best looking games of the Wii, some of the best looking games of the whole of last gen.

I played Metroid Prime 3 recently and I have to say, jagged really sums it up. Doesn't hold up in my view.

Skyward Sword and Smash Bros are probably second and third, MKWii looks alright too, but none of them get even close to the Galaxy games.

Metroid Prime 3 because it's art design was superior to every other game on the system.

Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Not only was it lovely, but the art style covers a lot of the Wii's deficiencies. It's aged better than a lot of other titles.

Agreed.

It really goes to show that even on underpowered hardware, a skilled enough developer can produce beautiful games.

I have to go with either the Galaxy games or Epic Yarn...
The scenery in Xenoblade looked fantastic from afar but things got a bit messy up close...
The character models weren't anything to write home about either...

Have a nice day...

I was just thinking that "The Conduit" and its sequel are commonly cited as the best looking Wii games in terms of tech. "Umbrella" and "Darkside" were both really advanced for the hardware as well.

From an artistic standpoint, "Muramasa" probably takes the cake.

"Metroid Prime 3" was also very impressive for an early title. Nintendo said way back when that it would make you say "Wow!", and it really did at the time. Resolution aside, "Prime 3" looked very much like a year-one 360 title.
