Slimebeast said: The sad truth is that Bloodborne was dumbed down compared to the Souls games and now we Souls fan will suffer for it. It sold so well that From took inspiration from that and made the upcoming Dark Souls 3 take influence from Bloodborne, being faster paced and simplified and I hate that. Even the visual style is changed so that these new gamers from Bloodborne will be lured over and buy Dark Souls 3. The greatness of Souls games is that you have to go into fights carefully and patiently. |
I didn't feel like it was dumbed down? Faster, yes, which is good for me. When combat is real time I prefer having some sense of speed..otherwise I play turned based. Adrenaline of getting those ultra quick perfect dodges (coupled with a quick hit) is too good.
I don't see the visual style of ds3 showing a change either.. Unfortunately for me again cause I much prefer BB's horror look over the Souls sterile dark fantasy
As for being careful and patient.. Oh that's there alright. Parriable bosses you need to check their moves and experiment with the timings. Decide what to dodge and what to parry. Unparriables are the definition of patient, as going in will just quickly get you killed. Just today I fought the Watchdog of the Old ones in Defiled chalice and half of the fight was spent with his HP at sub 30%.. Because without patience and caution I'd have died due to his last phase aggression. And I'd like to see someone go through the Upper cathedral ward first time without being careful..that's be fun to watch. Oh kin of the cosmos
