Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Sounds like Link will remain silent in Zelda Wii U

http://www.gonintendo.com/stories/251143-aonuma-unsure-as-to-whether-link-should-speak-in-legend-of-zelda

“We’ve had a lot of requests from fans to hear [Link’s] voice, and while in some ways I do feel that it could be good to have a game where he speaks, part of me also feels that that air of proud independence he has because he doesn’t speak is a precious part of the individuality of his character. I want to think long and hard about whether changing that would be for the better or not before I make any decision.”

I do hope he dosent speak.Being a silent protagonist with the eventual grunt is already part of his personality, and i want it to keep like that. Not that they couldnt make it work with a voice, but being silent is better.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Glad to hear

And I hope it never does.

Good, they can fuck off if they give him voice acting. Or if they ever let Samus speak again after that horribly failed experiment.

Around the Network

I hope they make him talk and they give him the voice of Danny Devito. Or maybe Adam West.

Heh.

Good to know they are keeping him silent though, giving Link a voice would suck =P

As it should be if you ask me. Voice acting is not for every game, it's not for Zelda, as it shouldn't be for Mario or Animal Crossing to name a few. Link is perfect just the way it is and I can't see him talking in the near future so that's a relief.

Fine. The rest of the characters should speak though.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Knowing how translations of Japanese games generally turn out, no thanks.
