Lower entry wages for younger people can boost employment prospects. I don't doubt a lower minimum wage in the UK for under 22s is a big reason why although still an issue, youth unemployment is less of an issue than in many other European countries.
A lower minimum wage for younger people helps to offset their lack of employment experience and helps give a foot in the door.
RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
