Forums - Politics Discussion - On the topic of refugees

There's no positives for the host country if the refugees are from a totally different cultural mindset.

I think it's important to realize that both sides of the coin will lie about the situation in order to gain support. One will cause guilt, the other will monger fear. Whatever truth fits your agenda conveniently will be used and the rest ignored. Who cares about the peaceful ones? When have peaceful immigrants and refugees going about their daily lives ever made the news? Meanwhile, while the two sides duke it out, there is still a very real war going on and a very real refugee crisis. What is the best way of going about this? How can we avoid making a mockery of a critical situation? And when can both sides stop focusing on these events as a way to gain political support, and start realizing it is a very real crisis?

The people who don't want these people in droves. Now I have no problem with refugee's who want to integrate. But many who've come to Europe haven't done so. I fear this was cause a slow but justified collapse of the EU. Germany is essentially trying to run the show, and I'm sure there are plenty who are sick of it. Britain will probably leave first, and the polish and hungarian's probably won't be too far behind. Then it'll be a cascading effect, and before long its just a few powerful countries who simply can't agree on anything, and they will cut the cord...

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

So can you explain why many of these refugee's are causing violence and acting demanding. Give me a source that proves this, because if this was the case, Sweden and Germany wouldn't be deporting so many people...

many? Out of a million in Germany alone, there are only a few hundred or even thousand (if we even go that far) that are causing problems. That's still faaaar below 1% and thus below the ratio of remaining Nazis in Germany. (Judging by the votes the NPD got in 2013. Not even counting the other extremist parties of the right scene).

That's like saying that this site has many Oyua owners. Hilariously wrong.

Ummm... just new years in cologne alone was a disaster. 100s of rape's, and a city that was turned to hell. And your telling me they aren't causing problems? And the best part... the government tried to cover it up! So lets help these people, because white's are 2nd class now :D, and these women deserved it because these "refugee's" didn't like the way these women dressed.

*yawn* you're making yourself look more ignorant with every post. Please learn your facts and stop lying.

starts with how you don't even know what rape is.
City turned to hell. yeah sure, because Cologne isn't the 4th biggest city in Germany with a few hundred square kilometers in size, it's just one big train station.
You obviously lack reading comprehension as I never said "they aren't causing problems". It was you who said that "many" are causing violence. You finding a few dozen or hundred is not even close to "many" and certainly not enough to blame the 99% innocent ones.
The government tried to cover it up? Any proof? The news agencies were slow during the days following New Year's Eve, the vast majority of women went to the police several days after the incident. Women had only filed 60 charges after the first 4 days. How could anyone know the magnitude of these robbery and sexual harassment attacks on the 1st or 2nd or 3rd day of the month?

Also the German government has no power over the Bundesland North Rhine-Westphalia or the city of Cologne, where the attacks happened. Don't be such a conspiracy theorist.

Never knew there was a city in Germany called cologne.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Also, for anyone thinking this situation is black and white ,please think again.

The world is not so simple. The complexity of the situation makes it impossible for one obvious answer.

Continue on if you'd like.

On one hand, you have progressive liberals who are sympathetic to the loss of the refugees' homes.

On the other hand, you have the people living in the countries the refugees have fled to demanding they either act like civilized people or leave.

Dude, just stop. What are you talking about? You don't even live in Europe. The referendum has nothing to do with the refugee crisis.

And why would you assume I wouldn't know people from Europe? And as for the referendum, yes the British have many different economical and political reason's that I won't go into discussion to here, but don't you think this makes the British more inclined to leave? Germany and Sweden opened the floodgate's, and began this mess. They should have instead given aid money to help refugee's stay in the middle east, instead of simply allowing in millions at a time. And you can say whatever you want, but judging from where you are (Britain) you probably know little more than anyone who has no idea about the region. I know plenty of friends and relative's who're genuinely worried about the situation. You should be thankful your country hasn't had to face what other mainland European countries have had to face, and frankly I believe Canada shouldn't be allowing so many refugee's in at a time, though that's once again a different discussion.

Look, its Europe's choice here. But why do 40% of germans now want Merkel to resign over this? Doesn't that give you an indication that Europe is sick and tired of having to full on deal with this? They should close their border's, and turn them back!

Barely notice any crisis where I am at. Besides illegals from south of the border. Still not a crisis here though.

Shhh...The media calls it a crisis. Play on words is extremely important when discussing things. It can help shed light on something( or the opposite).

As long as we call it a crisis, more people will care. Call it something else, no one will care.

Its no crisis! Its a bunch of economical migrant's looking for a way to use the system! They don't care about the damage they cause, they just want $$$ for their new iPhone's and sneakers!
