Is that only because of the games? all 3. party games in ps4 get also the xbox one and I cant believe it is because of the exclusive titles. Whats the real reason of the success for Playstation 4??

Xbox one isn't equivalent thought. Xbox is better then ps4 in some areas and vice versa. PS4 was like 200 pound cheaper on launch too

its cause Sony promised 10000 games sometime in the future with CGI videos and people jumped on the hype train.

oh and because they had the video of them showing hw you can share games by handing over a physical copy to your mate at the tie Microsoft had caught the DRM virus.

The reasons are easy. PS4:

stronger hardware and better graphic (multigames) than the xb1
more games !!, the ps4 = perfect west-and japan-games support.
more and better exclusives in the future
all amazing big JRPGs ala Persona 5, Star Ocean 5, Dragon Quest 11, FF7 Remake, Nier 2, Tales of Berseria, DQB, FF15, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, Valkyria Chronicles Azure Revolution, Grand Kingdom, Bloodborne, Ni No Kuni 2 on PS4. And more reasons.. (the features are great ect)!  the PS4 is the best console for Gamer.

As a Nintendo Gamer I have no knowledge of the subject. However, if I would have to guess I would say, that there are many "returners". The XBOX was a good choice last Gen, when Sony did so many mistakes. (600 at launch ...) However this Gen Sony did make no mistakes. They still have a good reputation.

I'm trying to figure this out as well. At the moment, I own a Wii U and a PS3 and I don't see a need to upgrade to a PS4.

Well out of the 10 games that I own 4 are exclusives. I bought mine with an exclusive, and an expectation of many more exclusives. Just because the fanbase supports 3rd partys does not mean they don't buy consoles for the exclusives.

A simple google search would show you the large difference in the libraries and how much wider the gap gets this year. I really don't understand why people keep up the games or lack thereof comments.  

I was buying two Xbox ones at launch but changed because of their confusion from management on digital game concurrent sharing and it was backed up by the nasty gram on family share plan where I went from $99 a year to $120   

Sony at the same time put out a FAQ stating they'd carry on the digital policies from PS3 allowing people to buy a game and use on two systems (down from PS3 I think but still met my needs) simultaneously with a single purchase.  There PSN was $49 for two accounts vs at the time what looked like $120 for live up from $99 in my case   

I couldn't get a confirmation on whether Xbox one would let me buy once digital and play simultaneously on a single purchase for multi console homes.  They were an absolute mess at launch  

I had full intention on Xbox one being the console I had two of the same in my home but they didn't cooperate  

I also don't care about brands so I buy what meets my needs.  So making ps4 my main console vs continuing from 360 as my main means nothing to me.  I don't get emotional about a brand of game machine.   

Why does it bother you that people choose one brand over another?  I find these types of threads that have been happening across the net since launch absolutely fascinating
