The NX is fast approaching and people have many questions.  This is another question for you.  

Nintendo wont be making that many remasters, the only remaster nintendo is doing is Twilight Princess HD. TBH thats like the only nintendo game i think can think of , that is remastered. Xenoblade CHronicles NEW 3DS is hardly remastered, they just re-released it for the NEW 3DS

Why are people acting like remasters are a new thing? They've been around since the 90s only they were just called ports. One of the earliest remasters that everyone should know is Mario Allstars.

What are they gonna remake: Mario games? Zelda games? If not those then they'll be remaking games that no one wanted in first place.

It depends on the amount of remasters/remakes, and which gen they are. I don't complain about remasters/remakes of games of, at least, 2 previous gens. It's a nice way to revisit those games. But I'm not sure about making them from the previous gen. I mean, what's the point of TPHD if you can buy TP with BC? I could understand XC remake as it fits on a portable console, and it's a different experience. But that's it.

I don't think so.

Nintendo usually (not always) makes good remasters/remakes, so they'll most likely get a free pass on it. Plus, it's not like they remaster many games. Lately they've gone a bit crazy with Zelda stuff, but that's about it really. I don't remember a Mario, DK or Kid Icarus remaster.



Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Think they will just release them on eShop as Wii U virtual console but will probably get a Skyward Sword remaster at some point in the lifetime of the NX :)

Well you're calling a lot of people on gaf and pretty much every forum idiots so I presume here too.  

 

The thing is these ports and remasters make sense.  What doesn't make sense is when people complain about a company that don't like doing it but don't bat an eye lid when their own does it.  

 

And just for the record I'm not talking strictly Sony,  Microsoft and Nintendo with first party ports and remasters.  Yeah they've all done a few but on Playstation and xbox they've got 3Rd party support so their platforms got way more.  

 

Obviously NX will get less because Nintendo platforms get less games but the ratio to new games will be similar if not more.

It depends on what they remaster and port..

VC is basically straight up ports and people like that because we can play the classic games

So it depends on how many games get remastered and from when they were originally released

The reason people complained about remasters with the 8th gen is not because they are remasters it's because a number of these ports came literally with in a year or so of the original releases.
