What's your point again exactly? Lol.

That there are hints the NX may come out in 2016 (home console wise, I actually think the handheld will launch this year)? Sure, but I don't think it will.

And if my evidence and reasoning make sense, it would seem there's more behind my reasoning than my "There is no way the NX is coming this year because it's an iron-clad law a console generation has to  be at least five years" mantra (which strangely enough is a mantra that doesn't even exist).

"Making someone sound like a rabid madman when that person hasn't made any personal attacks against you or shown any sign of losing control; this is essentially putting them down and/or flaming."

That was the point. The discussion was very civil, respectful and fascinating up until that point.

Then there are ways of letting him know than going off into your own disrespectful reply. In doing that you're only adding to the problem.

Sounds like you're a lot more offended and butthurt over that last paragraph in my reply than I ever was. All I did was say that Soundwave is provididing sources  and official quotes for his reasoning, while you are not. You said I'm not contributing anything to the debate, so here is  my contribution:

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/01/ihs_technology_adds_to_speculation_of_an_nx_portable_release_in_2016

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for you to show me something to believe the NX isn't coming in 2016 beyond "There is no way the NX is coming this year because it's an iron-clad law a console generation has to  be at least five years." If you can't or won't do that, then could you kindly get over my first post already? It's been like, three days and five posts. Let it go.

Soundwaves proof isn't really proof though. It's much more personal opinion and spin. His ideas of a hanheld, micro console, and pro console are clear fantasy.

Everyone's NX concepts here are fantasy unless someone here is claiming to work at Nintendo R&D.

A $199 portable 3DS-2 with a relatively crap processor + screen and a $299 console that's about a PS4 in power is also "fantasy", but most here think that's what Nintendo will do ... even though this is basically the same thing they did this generation to huge marketshare losses.

All you did reinforce what I was saying. No proof exist about a 2016 launch besides pr spin. He made it seem like your ideas were coming from some unquestionable source.

I don't care if it comes out this year or next year, as I am not planning on getting it at launch anyway.

They have already promised to release Zelda for the WiiU (although I'm certain they will port to the NX, or design for the NX and port to the WiiU, either way). I would be more upset if they cancel Zelda WiiU.

I feel sorry for Wii U owners. They have abandoned the console already smh

4 years is standard support for Nintendo consoles, after that point it's always shit anyway so I say get rid of that 5th year.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I'd be worried if Nintendo does release the NX this year because I don't believe they've had nearly enough time to prepare a software lineup that will make that new console appealing to the general public.

Wrong. You completely missed the subject (hint: it's in the thread's title). I have never once said Soundwave's theory about what the NX is is right or wrong. It's just a theory at this point, no matter if he states it's his opinion or says it as if it were fact. He knows exactly as much about what it is as you or me.

I have also never said Soundwave is unquestionably correct in his stance about the NX coming in 2016; I've never said that it definitely is or is not either. However, Soundwave, unlike most of those arguing for a 2017 release, is posting sources for his reasoning and presenting them in a detailed, logical manner. He is showing you WHY he believes what he believes. Whether or not you agree, you have to at least respect it, because you have the means to understand why he believes it. Even when I disagree with someone's viewpoints and opinions, I can appreciate them when they show me some reasonable sources and explain them well.

You can call it "pr spin" all you want, but let's see you show us something more substantial. I've been waiting for it, and I'm not so staunch and stubborn that I can't see reasonable proof in the other side's favor. I'm open to anything worth looking into, so show me what you got.

Where on that link does it say that Bandai Namco was polled? I don't recall seeing that name when I read it originally, nor could I find it by searching for keywords.

I was more reading between the lines being there was a link to the rumor that "Namco Bandai had several NX games in development" in the statement. But true enough it never really gave the company name that polled yes.

So in other words, you just kind of made that up?

Moot point anyway. I read Hiku's response to the matter after my post, and he pretty much made my argument for me already, and much better than I ever could.

Nothing to feel sorry about. It's a very fun console for Nintendo games and has the most significant new Nintendo console IP in like 15 years in Splatoon. It also has the deepest content 2D Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash Brothers games by a huge gap.

Both the GameCube and N64 got roughly 45-47 Nintendo published games, the Wii U is already at 37-38, when you factor in Zelda U, Pokken Tournament, SMT x Fire Emblem, Star Fox 0, and Paper Mario U, you already are at nearly the same number of Nintendo games as the N64/GCN got.

That's not bad considering HD development takes much more resources. It's been well supported by Nintendo. As for third party support, you know the risks when you buy a Nintendo platform.

Okay. But you do know this entire thread is made up of leaps of faith, and nothing concrete, right....

Pretty much this. They already released or will release (Zelda U, Star Fox..) almost all biggest franchises , so there is no real point ridding dead horse.
