In all honesty Ps3 was and still is a fucking beast.

Short answer...  Yes.

Only if the person likes Playstation. If they were a Nintendo gamer, they wouldn't agree. A platform is only as valuable as the person's tastes dictate.

I actually take issue with this statement.  Demon's Souls, TLOU, , LBP, Resistance, Killzone, Uncharted, and MGS4 are objectively great games.

You don't have to be a "Playstation Gamer" to like them.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

Generally, I'd say yes. It has a lot of games available to buy. Can't go wrong with it.

get the Wii, PS3, and DS.

They're all crazy cheap(get all three for 150-200 dollars), their games are cheap, and they're fun.

The DS has the Akecard though. I remember buying it and installing 100 games. Man was it fun. I might get a DS just to play all of the games it had

In short, yes. After years of replacing my Xbox 360 6 times because the Red Ring of Death, switching to the PS3 was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my gaming career for the diverse amount of exclusives I've experienced with the system for over 6 years (I got my PS3 since 2009). I also managed to find some of my favorites such as Killzone 2, the Uncharted series, Resistance: Fall of Man, the Infamous series, Ratchet & Clank, MAG (Game has shut down since 2014, don't buy MAG), and of course, The Last of Us. Not to mention free online, which boggles me that I need PS Plus for PS4, because I barely take advantage of the "free" games were given, of which if your subscription expires, you can't play your "free" games until you renew it.

tl;dr Buy a PS3, it's worth it.

- It plays all PS3 games

- it plays all PS1 games

- it plays all PS3 games from all regions, its regionfree for both disc and digital based games

- it plays blue-rays

- Hardrive is replacable

- it has plenty of games and exclusives. A lot of PS3 games are getting released on PS4 as New remasters or crossgen titles

- it has free online

- it still gets some new games from Japan

all for 200 bucks or less, opnions?

for console only probl yes. In general: NO.

A PC will be alot better in almost everything you mentioned (and im not even a pc player).

You can get an PC that is capable of playing ps3 games pretty cheap. Probl like  ~200 bucks.

You get thousands of old games which are almost all below 5$ pricetag, free online and so much more ;)

The only problem wih ps3 is how slow and clunky the interface is when comparaded with ps4 interface. But in terms of games, is amazing console.
