I couldn't get past episode 3. I've watched too much cartoon network as a kid and the humor is exactly like most things there, except they were actually good.
I could cite 20 better animes from 2015 alone.

Only if an A and a Y aren't in the name...

I don't really get what you mean, but this excludes almost everything.

Oh, and Saitama is overrated too. He doesn't even beat Lord Boros in One Punch. How can people pit him up against the likes of Gomulka and Superman?!?!?!?!

The super popular ones always gets hyped as the best anime ever. We have that almost every season. Lol!

Waiting for OPM season 2.

Tell me some of your faves or personally underrated and we'll see what becomes of them =P.

Seriously though I do like OPM but it's designed to be a parody of other anime, including the ones that focus on heroism, the fact it's over the top silly means it doesn't have to be taken seriously.

You know what else is overrated though?, SAO, AoT, Kantai, practically anything that has a huge focus on magical schoolgirls or school life in general or shows that focus on ye olden times with elves in them.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

I don't know about being the best anime ever, but it's definitely at the top of my 2015 list. I can only think of a few shows that struck my interest more than OPM did.

This. Seriously. It honestly astounds me how many people claim to watch a wide collection of anime, and yet seem to miss the whole point of OPM. If you're watching it as a serious shonen action, you're doing it wrong. The entire point of the series is Saitama's struggles with being overpowered, and is largely a parody of shonen cliches.

I also come across a guy calling it the best drawn manga ever, saying it beat Berserk and all.
Pretty funny that in this case it's actually a parody, in almost all ways, even on the drawing.

Don't worry, it's a cool series, I enjoy it, hype will happen, that's how it goes.

I don't think I'd say it's the best drawn manga out there (I personally think Hiro Mashima and Shinobu Ohtaka's manga vie for that crown)...but Murata's manga is very well done, and he's a pretty fantastic artist IMO. Here's a picture he drew of a boatload of Jump characters.

I think you might have missed the point of that fight. Saitama didn't use a "serious" punch until the very end; up until that point he was holding back. Boros actually commented on it.

No idea who Gomulka is...but there's a recurring thread type on 4chan that pits Saitama against Goku all the time that I love to read. Mostly because of how stupid the fight is. Saitama's character is literally "stronger than anyone"...so putting him against someone he's largely parodying is just asanine.

It's certainly well drawn, even as it's a parody even on the drawing here and therem but it's certainly no Berserk.

Berserk is pure art almost every single panel, it's completely outstanding the amount of details and small traces filling basically anything, there is simply nothing else I've ever put my eyes into that holds a fight with it, there are a lot of good and also some great mangakas, there is a few excepcional mangakas, then there is Miura.

I can definitely say it's great but when someone throws Berserk there it's hard to let it go xP

Hm...that's true. I don't read Berserk so I can't really comment on it...though I have a friend on another forum that would rave about the artstyle. Maybe I'll have to finally check it out.

I consider Hiro and Ohtaka to be my favorite mangaka for detail as well, though I think the former mostly excels at character designs and the latter at background and panoramas. Magi in particular has some panels that make my jaw drop...it's unbelievable how much detail she puts into her panoramas.

Though it also seems like the best artists seem to have an army of assistants that help with shading and background details, so it's hard for me to directly compare mangaka. Does Miura mostly draw solo?

At the beginning of a three phrase name... if they are one, two or four phrases (in Japanese) it's all good (unless Free is involved)...

It's just the hype, I'm sure is great but not the best ever, and the people claiming that probably don't watch more than 2 or 3 animes. I haven't watch it yet and I won't because I'm not the biggest anime fan and the only one I watch is one piece (not saying is the best, in fact is has been pretty meh for a while, manga is the GOAT tho )

You guys do realize that everybody has their own "best" anime.

I've watched tons of anime...more than the average person on this site i would say and i really like One Punch Man.

I mean most people who watch a lot of anime dont have a single favorite but a range of 10 - 20 top anime that they like and recommend to others.

One Punch Man is definitely high up on my list. Doesn't take itself too seriously...which is the great thing about it. Besides that, the anime just gives you a good feeling while watching, and the music and action really gets u pumped. I dont find it too cliche either, which is super rare across most anime.

But yeah...to see so many anime fans come in here and say "its clearly not the best" or "its only liked by people who dont watch anime" is disappointing.
