I honestly think the market for the Xeno games is already there -- it's just that most of them are on handhelds right now because it's where all the JRPGs are.  I'm very curious to see how a Xenoblade X port or the next Xeno game would do on the NX if it's is a dual hardware platform (handheld and console).   Also, keep the next Xeno game as far away as possible from NOA and 8-4 when it comes time to localize.

Either is fine, but if it's that latter, I would like to have a similar open world style rpg game :p

Personally I'd like to see them go back to Mira and go deeper into detail.
The last cutscene to XCX left me and countless others with plenty of questions that want answered and I think a sequel that focus into developing the story a lot more and going into deeper background behind Mira and the plot of X in general would be great.
Personally, while I feel X was a really great game, the story was the biggest problem I had with it. It just left a lot to be desired and it's what kept an already great game from what could've been an absolute masterpiece like the original was.
But seeing as how they have the groundwork, the engine, and the foundation laid already from the first game, a direct sequel is something I would love to see.
As far as the World goes, it didn't feel empty at all. It felt just right!
It was big, definitely, but not too big, and with all of the sidequests and missions you have to work with as a member of B.L.A.D.E., all the enemies you can kill, resources/materials to gather, FrontierNav, flying around in a Skell and listening to "Don't Worry", the world just feels so alive, vibrant, and awesome to travel through!
So I want a sequel to X, with the story vastly improved and ironed out, then I'll have the game I was truly hoping for.

That's never gonna happen, and you know it.

Poll is giving me the middle finger. Also Monolith should attempt something akin to Xenogears. Maybe collaborate with Nintendo, SE and Sony to make it possible on both the PS4 and Wii U only. Ok, and PC.

I think Nintendo has a better chance of collaborating with Microsoft then they ever would with Sony outside of charitable things the basic industry stuff.

But if they wanted to do something with the Xenogears brand, they wouldn't need Sony, only Square Enix who despite everything seems to be pretty good with Nintendo these days. But in general that itself is pointless as the Xenogears brand while well rememberd by fans and JRPG historians isn't necessary, if they wanted to do something like that they can do it under the  Xenoblade brand.

They could give it to NOE.  They did a fantastic job with the Operation Rainfall games.

Two words:
Fast. Travel.
