Forums - Movies & TV - Will Smith will not attend the Oscars in row over lack of diversity

Never really cared for the Oscars tbh, the way they go about choosing nominees and winners makes it feel rigged, I mean look at Dicaprio, I feel sorry for the guy. Will Smith on the other hand has been a bit nutty the past few years, especially with him and his son doing films together or his daughter trying to stand out.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

Have the boycotters ever said who should have been nominated, and who should therefore have been omitted?

In one case like best picture the academy didn't even use their own limits. I think 8 instead of the 10. As for the acting categories while they might have hit the limit, what's to stop then from increasing in by a few people and help reduce the chances of multiple years of only white nominees in a row?

Though as people have pointed out, this happens because of issues much earlier in the movie making process.

Who cares what race someone is?

Feel free to check out my stream on twitch

If the goal was to have diversity there, they would invite people from all ethnicity backgrounds. Will is not asking for diversity.

Lube Me Up

Elba, Jordan should have made the cut. Not Smith, Concussion was terrible.

So is he nominated? Because if he isn't then his reasons for not attending lose some credibility

Get Gervais to host the oscars and i might give a damn.

Pretty sure this dude is one of the most successful Americans (multi-multi-multi millionaire, huge success in music, TV, and movies, one of the most famous people on the planet) period.
