hey guys so the nx is going to be revealed any minute now and stuff and i just realized that there are a bunch of amiibos that are releasing tomorrow and it made me wonder if they are going to axe the wii u this year and stuff replace it with the nx then why are they coming out with all these amiibos so it made me think that the nx must have amiibo functionality and stuff or else why would they release 70+ amiibos if there were going to be no long term use for them so in my mind im thinking that this is a kind of confirmation that we will in fact see some sort of amiibo integration and stuff into the nx and im wondering what exactly its going to be but we can be sure that it is going to take place so this is essentially a given that we should expect to see more details about in the next direct i also wonder when the next direct is

It's not even a question of whether or not Amiibos will continue. They print money. Nintendo is going to leech off of them as long as they can.

Maybe the NX will have the skylanders type of game for amiibos

For sure. Amiibos are a long term thing, they made that clear by making it work even with the 3DS (with an adapter).

Maybe NX will have it's own NintendoLand-like game that's all about amiibos. o.o

I think there's no need of a confirmation. It's pretty much guaranteed. There are like, what, 12-13M amiibos sold out there, I think it would be very foolish to not use them. And they definitely should do a Nintendo "Infinity".

Yeah, Nintendo wouldn't release so many amiibo halfway through an extra short console life cycle without intent on keeping them going in production. I thought this was obvious.

Amiibo will be as close to physical media as NX will ever get. Unlike Wii U and 3DS, I'm sure they will be a core part of NX. While that sucks, you can't win every battle.

I almost expect the former EAD Software Group 2 to come up with an amiibo-centric game at launch for the NX since they seem to be the team Nintendo turns to whenever they need a game to showcase the new features of a console.
