Will be buying Starfox Zero, Zelda U, and if they end up arriving as promised, (I have my doubts) 90s Arcade Racer and Yooka Laylee.

So 2-4 purchases in a whole year.

This is why I can't justify getting an NX; I'm had it up to here with getting a handful of worthwhile games per year with months of nothing in between.

Wouldn't it make more sense to make a decision once you actually know something about the NX schedule?

Don't be daft. Rash, knee-jerk decisions are far better than informed ones.

Would also ask, if you didn't have a Wii U, would you buy one now and work through the back catalogue knowing what has already come out for it? It's certainly a console I'd have picked up later down the line if I didn't get one at launch. General rule of thumb I use for buying a console though is making sure it has enough games to make it worthwhile before buying.

I still get a fair few consoles at launch because usually, there is enough in the first year lineup to interest me.

Yeah Wii U has been a trickle, but when the big hitters do come, pretty much every single one of them would make me go "dammit I wish I didn't sell my Wii U!" had I ever sold it.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Lol! This isn't even a complete list. Better fix that or close the thread. Thanks.

Alternatively, you could always inform the OP of the games that he has missed and then he can add them to the thread.

That's lame, the only title to look forward is the new Zelda!

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Nintendo needs to add a killer games for the Wii U else Wii U would sell less this year.

I foolishly bought my Wii U in November of 2013, on the naive assumption that once Nintendo got to grips with HD development, a smoother schedule of releases would ensue. Instead, the game droughts and delays continued year after year.

I agree, I got the wii u during late 2012 thinking "when has nintendo let me down last gen"

I did not expect every other dev leaving and months of droughts

I have high hopes for the NX. I think NIntendo are confident about what they have, more so than the wii u by a long way. My prediction is the handheld NX doubles up as a VR headset for the main NX console and both consoles work together to create good performance. I also think retail games will just be a security chip that enables the game to be downloaded. The main console will maybe take quite a few security chips where as the handheld only a few and can be freely swopped between each console plus purchased download content will be shared between both consoles on one account with cloud saves. Both will be x86 based.

Most importantly I think both NX consoles will release with a major game. Maybe a Mario game for the NX handheld and perhaps a VR Zelda U for the NX console or maybe Mario kart is in the equation. Anyway I feel that Nintendo has learned its lesson about selling shit hardware at inflated prices and their next home console will at least be competitive.

I've been negative about wii and wii u because quite frankly they were terrible consoles with a limited performance level compared to their competitors. This made it difficult to create amazing games that were competitive with Playstation and Xbox in many genres. I really think the NX will end this.

This is why I bought a PS4. The Wii U gets great games but there are so few of them it's insane.

yes, i too. the ps4 has 2016 more than 200 games-release (that say ign.com). i buy ca. 15 great japanese games and 5 west-games this year for ps4. personally, I sold my wii u last year. 2016 is really sad for wiiu only gamer in my opinion. 2017 is the end then -.- YOOKA-LAYLEE and other games are coming for other consoles too.

Even without Paper Mario and Pikmin 4 which are probably releasing for the Wii U this year, this list is pretty great as far as first party games are concerned.
The problem is obviously the lack of third party games. I mean, the Wii U hardly gets any. Skylanders, Just Dance, Disney Infinity and LEGO-games will release this year too, but not much else.
On the other hand, your list of indie titles is severly lacking, meaning that the '13 confirmed Wii U games of 2016' thread title is false and misleading.
