I think it's more telling that prior to delays/localizations, Nintendo was aiming for all of their major 1st/2nd party commitments to the Wii U and 3DS to be completed by the end of the current Japanese fiscal year.  It's like they wanted a clean break from the Wii U and 3DS to start off the next fiscal year.

If the NX were already released to the public, people outside of Nintendo could confirm things about it, e.g. "I can confirm that it has such and such a processor, or such and such a port." If anyone says anything about the NX, we won't know if it's true until Nintendo says "Yes, that's true." That's what a confirmation is.

That is so far away from being confirmed it isn't even a decent rumor, title should be reported for trolling. For AMD it could be any number of other projects, not to mention shipping boards in 2016 even if they are for NX doesn't necessarily mean a 2016 release date.

There's no way right? I really don't buy it being out until mid 2017.

This is from a AMD investors briefing. The have a new console SoC shipping in fall 2016, that is true. We just don't know for what company it is for, but obviously you can take a wild guess.

AMD does not manufacture any chips at all. They are a design firm only. Shipping to them means simply delivering the chip design to the client in fall 2016. Even if Nintendo was the client they couldn't just slap the chip in a motherboard and start manufacturing.

The PS4 apu shipped in 2012 and manufacturing began in July 2013.

It is impossible for the NX to come out in 2016, people need to accept that.

And yet AMD turns profit on X1/PS4 chips in Q3 2013. one quarter before X1/PS4 were launched, and for this year they said they will have revenue from that new chip in second half of 2016.
