Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: GFK (Nintendo client) leaks Nintendo's next gen system info and WSJ Rumor: NX to "work with" PS4, smartphones, PC

Isn't 900px60fps overall better than what PS4 and Xb one achieve? PS4 pretty much always hits 1080p, but only for 30fps games. Typically 60fps games are sub 1080, or they are graphically relatively undemanding.

But still, it's not a major technical improvement over PS4 and Xb one, so trying to drag the PS/Xb audience away through having a nottably more powerful machine would clearly not be in their minds if that output turns out to be true.

They may lose double dippers but would potentially gain in people who currently own neither Nintendo devices.

For example, let's say someone is interested in 4-5 3DS games but that's not quite enough for them to buy a 3DS.

Let's say that same person is also interested in 4-5 Wii U games but again that's not enough for them to buy a Wii U.

This person owns neither Nintendo device because the individual libraries aren't enough for them, but if there was a single device that could play all 8-10 of those games that they are interested in, do the chances of this person buying a Nintendo device increase? I would say they do.

I agree, I'd be pretty sure most poeple who own a different console would currently love to play a few games on each of Nintendo's platform but dont want to party with the money for 2-3 games but if that was 5-6 that could be another potential hardware sold.

Yep, and another huge benefit for Nintendo is the sales of their software. Splatoon is going to sell something like 4-5 million, imagine if it were on 3DS in addition to Wii U, it would sell like 8-10 million. The same goes for alot of other games.

Elaborate.

Both companies integrate hardware and software in a way no one else does. Apple with its firmware and Nintendo with the way if builds hardware around its games. Both also focus on having a closed platform ecosystem, something Sony, Microsoft, and Google do not do.

So you're talking about company philosophy. I could agree there, to an extent. But what I was refering to was consumer base and product line. I don't think selling iPhones, iPads and Macs really compare to selling dedicated home and handheld consoles. They are in different industries selling to different demographics. Saying that Apple gets away with this or gets away with that doesn't really have much weight when we're talking about what Nintendo can do imo.

If true:

Sensor bar? So motion control is still a big part of it. I wont be liking it as motion control games arent my forte.

A lot of the new "leaked" rumors are indicating a NX home and handheld console. I was hoping more of a hybrid of it being a handheld that you can hook up onto your TV and play with a controller, like the PSP/PSP Go and forgo the whole remote play-like feature.

I'm really hoping the sensor bar is just something to do with a wireless controller, but a traditional one.

I have been waiting and waiting since the Gamecube for another regular home Nintendo console. They are just shooting themselves in the foot if they release yet another gimmicky motion control thing. and I know the Wii U doesn't really have much of any motion control, but the ridiculous tablet controller is just nuts for the traditional casual gamer and Nintendo fan

love the company but if they don't do a regular controller then I won't be buying. its sort of annoying though, I feel as if a LOT of fans just want a decent spec system with a traditional controller. it would most likely help sales to go this route

Agreed.  Nintendo should just go back to its roots and create a traditional home console.  If they want to add motion control or something different then let that be an add-on and let the consumers choose rather than forcing it upon us.

It could be true, because

... a PC could handle 1080p/60FPS is cost around 750 ~ 850 USD

So if you want to lower the manufacture cost, then 900p/60FPS is the way to go

Doesn't look like it's fake. Apparently a GFK spokeswomen says she can't comment on these NX slides, if it was fake done by some kid on his computer I'm sure they would just say so.

This almost certainly wasn't supposed to come out.

An R9 380 is more powerful than a PS4 + XB1 GPU combined (3.84 TFLOPS vs. 1.8 + 1.2). That CPU also shreds the PS4/XB1 CPUs.

So there's no power adapter in the box? I'm calling bullshit just on that.
