Forums - Gaming Discussion - Do "Easy" Platinum's stain your trophy list or make you feel ashamed?

I dismiss someones trophy list if there is obvious whoring goin on...

Yes 20 13.33%

No. 89 59.33%

Only if there is a high r... 24 16.00%

I have no opinion....on anything...ever... 17 11.33%

Total:150

I've only platinum'd games that I enjoyed so I never had this problem. Don't care much for trophies now, though so I guess I never will. I never bothered with the opportunity to get some platinums twice (like Sounds Shapes PSV/4) either.

So there is no trick to it?

Hm, at least I dont heard about any tricks two years ago. Since then devs published some dlcs. Dont know about them. Maybe some of them can help to get platinum in some way, I dont know. As I remember when I got the platinum the pt% was at 6-8%. Now its 12%.

I played it normally. Some trophies were tough, but not impossible)) If u want that platinum, then just try to play again and again and you will get it. Im sure its a matter of time. Is it worth it? Its up to you)

Eh, I know you are not talking about me, but I'm giving you the example that it doesn't necessarily have to be "pretending".
There is people like that, and I'm one of those, I play a lot into my friends PS3s, and I have even the most of my Platinums not on my account as well.

In my account I only have Assassin's Creed II, which I got just to make it stop having nothing and Demon's Souls which I got to have one I really could be proud of having. But I've also Platinuem Assassin's Creed 4, Resident Evil 5 and 6, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and 3, Watch_Dogs and God of War 3 (which was the first Platinum I ever got when I still didn't had a PS3 myself).

That kind of people exists

Yes they do.. but one thing is to not have a platinum (or few), another is having less than 10 trophies and alegating to be a heavy player, those would be really odd points in the curve. And when the person is a know troll then I have 0 tolerance. The person was trolling a lot saying how the PS games were bad, and when called out he said he was no troll and that owned the system and played all those games... when I located his profile account and saw very few trophies and asked him he said he played in a friend.

Is the guy banned?

I think I know who you are talking about xD

Not banned, which is almost ludi..... to imagine.

I've got a few very easy 1000G ones, but I didn't really force myself to play through them.
Even the most horrific ones were fun in a way. Anyone who thinks that any Call of Duty (yes even CoD 3) is not a great shooter has never played Darkest of Days.

I have easy platinums, but only from games I liek, I dont go around playing games that suck just cause theyre easy plats, so no Hannah montana for me, and I honestly think its kinda ridiculous to play a crap game just for the plat. I have however not played a game I was on the fence about because the plat was super hard, I figured that if I ended up hating the game than Id want to still plat it just so it wouldnt be left imcomplete on my list.

As a followup to my previous post, just got my first plat. Took 58 hours for Dragon Quest Heroes.

Congratulation. How do you feel now? Ackomlished? Did you get all warm and fuzzy inside? From here on out man your chasing the dragon :D Btw, did it make the game more fun and how hard was it to obtain?

I enjoyed this game, and I generally play more then 60 hours on games that I enjoy so the plat came a little easy. But the thing that made it seem easier is it has its own in game trophy system, that rewards you with in game stuff for simply getting a trophy. Most games don't do this. I certainly had more fun going for this plat then others like Disgaea 3, Dynasty Warriors 7, Uncharted 3. But in the end all those games would end up requiring more time then this one.

Is the what a platinum is called on live? Is the overall score the interesting aspect or the 1000g's?

It would be the equivalent... but different than PS system where you can easily see how much of each type of trophy one have you would just see a total score so you don't really know hom many games the person finished unless you look at the details.

Tbh, I game for the experience/gameplay/story etc... I don't game for trophies. As with achievements in WoW the only reason I even LOOK at them, is for tips on content I may have missed the first time through (far more relevant in WoW's case...plenty to miss there). So, if I'm having fun playing it, I don't care what color the trophy is.
