Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo NX -> WebOS MetaApps?

This is just conjecture. Hear me out.

We all know what happened with WebOS. Why couldn't it happen again? If Nintendo have a patent on holographic storage (which surfaced during the Wii days), why couldn't they couple that with web apps and make some kind of interoperability between handheld and console that relies on a sort of 'portable cloud' via holographic storage? It could revolutionize the consumer side of gameplay, and really streamline the data pipeline from Nintendo's side of things.

So, basically: do you think that WebOS could play a role in the new system, and, if not, why not? It would certainly explain a lot.

I have no idea what "holographic storage" means, but if its something related to the cloud, I would not like that. If the NX uses two kinds of hardware with one common architecture, I'd rather have cartridges as a form of physical media, instead of depending of Nintendo's network.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

3rd party software on Nintendo consoles? I believe it when I see it.

When did I say anything about that? WebOS is open source.

The only thing I know about WebOS is that it was a Mobile Device Operating System by Palm/HP that sunk and went open source. The only thing I know about Holographic Storage is that it uses holographic images (those cool things on bank cards and such) to retrieve data. Can you explain the connection for me?

It sounds like you want to see Nintendo use holographic cards similar to NFC to initiate Web Applications... but I must be missing something.

Since most of people seem to know near to nothing about this topic (including myself) could you please explain us more about your idea and this WebOS ?
