Locked: the Wii U is not getting replaced this year, guys

Forums - Nintendo Discussion - the Wii U is not getting replaced this year, guys

I would really like to see both consoles around for another year (wiiU) or 2 for (3DS) but I am not sure - and Somethign is still making me think of fusion type solution.

We all know that both consoles do not have software announced past May - or very little or not very great!

And we all know that nintendo has struggled to create enough launch suupport.

I cannot see how it is now possible for them to laucnh two consoles in the same year.
I cannot see how it is now possible for them too sostain launch/first year for two new consoles.

can the 3DS be holding on past 2018 as it is?
If no new games will be named by April - Can we take this as proof that new consoles are coming and coming quickly?

"when in history was a console $300 the year it got replaced?"

If this is the base of your argumentation, that might not be the best way to start the thread.

Soundwave already have the idea like how iPhones/iPads have been. have systems like NX Mini, NX HD, etc. that would give variety and flexibility to the consumer market. And upgrades of the specs in 2-3 years or so but not all gamers are required to upgrade.
I like that idea and i think it would benefit Nintendo as well.

With regard to the date of release, I've put NX HH 2016 then NX HC 2017, it gives Nintendo time and the gamers option on what to pick. since they really need to unify their platforms as Japan is more on handheld while rest of the world wanted a home console.

Except they'd get money from buyers of the gamr on the platform and in the long run the could be more potential buyers of the game then on the Wii U, it happened easily with TP.

No, they wont and they didn't with TP. TP gc version couldn't be played with a wiimote + nunchuck. If it could, wii owners would simply buy the GC game, no need for a port.

Wtf are you on about? They made money easily with TP's port it's the highest selling Zelda game with the Wii version selling 7m by itself, what controller the version used doesn't even factor into this point.

its been a real annoyance watching people live their lives as if this NX thing is releasing 2016, end of story. look, guys, it isnt happening. if anything, we might see a 3DS replacement. but the wii u? definitely not getting replaced this year. did you guys know that nintendo is still selling this console for $300?

I know that NX will most likely be a 3DS replacement, nonetheless I think I will wait until that is officially confirmed.

I don't think NX will remplace wiiu, i think NX will be système whose including wiiu

NX is in first a OS based on wiiu OS !
NX is aslo one server for online, hard disk for stockage, output display for TV and cloud computing communal... NINTENDO will sell online like equipment, not like service...
NX is aslo family of product whose connecte on the server and candidats take many forms, handless devices, smartphones or home console Simplified (APU, ram) and most likely WIIU

NX will be sell on bundle, i think a handless Wiiu + serveur, and the server will be sell single for wiiu

That is why we don't have any informations about wiiu games 2016, 2017... It's the same games on wiiu and NX
And that's is why wiiu don't change price...

Dude did you forget your own argument or something because look at your posts here, under the logic you yourself have put forward you said a port is not required if BC is there, the fact that the Wii version sold 7m to the GC's 2m highlights doing a port is more worth while even if BC is there for the reasons mentioned already. TP sold that much because it was ported as many of the people who bought it were not interested in the GC but were interested in the Wii, WW didn't get a boost from Wii's BC for reference.

Now you are just pretending you're not reading the posts. THE WIIMOTE + NUNCHUCK COULD NOT PLAY GAMECUBE GAMES. was it clear now? If wiimote and nunchuck could be used to play gamecube games through BC, a port wouldn't be necessary and sales would be the same. Unless you think the wii u successor's controller will remove buttons from the gamepad, it won't have any problem playing Zelda U.

Wind Waker was an old game probably already out of print. You expect sales of every previous gen game to jump with a new console that has BC?
