Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Best Nintendo Game This Gen

It's 2016 and we're well into the 8th gen, at least for Nintendo systems, which started the generation back in 2011 (3DS).

It might even be coming to an end, so I decided to make this thread to know my fellow VGChartz buddies opinion on what's the best game from Ninty so far.

My personal pick would be Pikmin 3. I know it sounds odd, but the game had it all: good graphics for its time, amazing use of gamepad, charisma, funny moments, extremely well made gameplay and lots of replayability. But that's likely to change once Zelda HD is released.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Fire Emblem: Awakening followed by The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

Wii U NNID:  CWegzz
3DS Friend Code:  4210-5277-5484
PSN:  Ronnoc4
Steam:  CWegz

There are a lot of games I could give that name to, mainly Fire Emblem Awakening, Link Between Worlds, Smash Wii U, Splatoon, and XCX.

If I had to choose, I'd have to say Splatoon, cause the game itself was a huge and successful surprise, and it's one of the best multiplayer games I've played in a long while.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Nintendo published: Bayonetta 2

Nintendo developed: Xenoblade Chronicles X

For me it's like this:
Console-wise: Bayonetta 2 (I don't know if it counts because Platinum made it, oh well..)
Handheld-wise: A Link Between Worlds

I knew I should have bought Pikmin 3 when I got my Wii U, I kept choosing other games over it and now it's impossible to find/expensive. I also wasted the free game from the MK8 deal with Wii Party U (I'll burn in hell for this xP)

It's between quite a few games, but ultimately I'll have to go with Splatoon. Before Zelda U arrives, at least.

3DS: Definitely A Link Between Worlds. Because of the dungeons. The weapons system. The music. The 4-layered music of Lorule Castle.

WIIU: Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.

It's between Mario Kart 8 and Smash for me.
