The Sega Pico is the Sega system with the longest lifespam? Really?

Also, will you do handhelds too?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Debatable in the cases of Sega Master System and Megadrive due to Brasil, where they got supported well into the last decade, complete with new hardware revisions.

Edit: apparently, the Master System is still selling around 150k a year in Brasil: http://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/brazil-is-a-video-game-alternate-universe-where-sega-beat-nintendo

It's basically a Sega Genesis reskinned that runs different software. It was designed to be a educational video game console and sold the majority of units in Japan. During it's 12 years on the market is only sold about 4M units.

NES, SNes and PS2 had my attention

These are numbers for official consoles. Replicated and third party copies aren't included because it gets messy. You can buy replicated version of most old consoles.

Take a look at this you can buy on eBay UK

RETRON 5 9 IN 1 CONSOLE

  1. Nintendo NES
  2. SNES (Super Nintendo)
  3. GameBoy Advance (GBA)
  4. SEGA Genesis
  5. SEGA Mega Drive
  6. Nintendo Famicom
  7. Super Famicom
  8. Gameboy Colour
  9. Game Boy

Right, I forgot how long the Famicom was on the market. It went on good long while. I heard they eventually ceased production and stopped doing repairs due to parts being hard to find. I'm surprised a few more Ninten as well as a few other consoles are high on the list. I am so used to them being around for only about 5-7 years. Also, there are a lot more consoles than I thought...

True, such retro consoles exist, but neither do they have an official licensing deal nor the original hardware, which those in brasil do (or did, not sure about the later editions still having the original hardware, especially the mobile versions)

While we're at it, should the RetroN 5 also chart? Could be considered a console after all.

I'd be surprised if any of the current gen consoles make it ten years.
