Forums - Movies & TV - Could Rey from Star Wars be considered a Disney princess now?

I walked into a Disney store today and was shocked to see how much merchandise of her there is, I mean pajamas, flippers, costume, now let's be honest other than Theme parks, Disney has build an empire catering to little girls, will we see Rey involved in their princess's world?

She felt like a female character taken out of a Disney film to begin with.

She is amicable, eager, attentive, occasionally clumsy for the sake of comedy, and cute.

Her character was the instance that made me feel the Disney embrace over Star Wars.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Yes, a modern princess, but still a princess! :P

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Orphan background

I really don't know. What Disney decides to do with her character is up to them. She seems like she could be marketed towards 5 year old girls, much more so in an animated form, even though the franchise she comes from isn't exactly the most marketable towards that same group.

bet: lost

There are Disney characters more worthy of that title like Elsa or Tony Stark and they're not even considered as official Princesses. Nice try, but Rey is too badass to be put down like that.

Will that make Disney more money?

Hell even Kylo Ren could work a lot better since he actually has royal blood.

That background I can't relate to a Disney story, and I don't mean that there isn't a story like that in Disney films, just saying I can;t remember one or don't know it.

Rey was my favorite character in the new Star Wars, but I didn't like the way she became that powerful so fast. A good explanation could help though, so I am reserving absolute judgement for the time being.

Nah she feels like a Star Wars character. The only one in the new cast to actually feel like one.

I think this is more appropriate
