This gen has had a lot of remasters-remakes. On the WiiU we have WindWaker and Twilight Princess. On the 3DS, we have Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, StarFox 3DS, Pokemon ORAS, Xenoblade N3DS...

Only TP HD and XC are from the previous gen. Noticed?

Yeah. One whole remaster. It exists. Obviously it isn't some foreign concept to Nintendo.

And yes, I can see one or two WiiU remasters hitting the NX too, especially in case it isn't fully backwards compatible.

I'm sorry I just don't get what the fuss is about? I see absolutely no reason to get worked up about this. Nintendo might do a few remasters. Big deal.

On a side note, I feel like having tantalus ready as a third party relations/porting specialized studio to make sure the big third party hitters come to Nintendo systems would be a smart move as well.

The big deal are the people thinking nintendo will waste resources like that. They won't remaster games that don't need any remastering and are available on the system through BC anyway. reprints can be made and digital will always be there.

I think Wii U remasters on NX would be a great idea. Some 30 Million potential players from Mario Kart Wii could play Mario Kart 8 if the console is received well enough.

Ok, but wasn't the whole point of this thread that Nintendo wouldn't need to waste recources if Tantalus was handling their remasters?

I mean, to my knowlegde Tantalus hasn't been offering any amazing first or third party original IPs for Nintendo systems we'd be missing out on, if they were busy remastering things. They're very good at ports though. So where's the harm?

The only resource Nintendo would be 'wasting' is money. And if the resulting remasters have good sales that wouldn't be a waste but an investment.

Nintendo doing it themselves or paying someone else is still a waste of resources if it's a remaster of a game that doesn't need one (all wii u games).

This will be perfect for people who missed out on the Wii U

This is all fair and well, but did we ever hear what big title they were porting to the Wii U? I mean, it's been almost a year now and no more hints?

Twilight Princess isn't big enough? That is the game.

Hopefully their skills with remasters move on too because TPHD looks dissapointing.

Really?  I'm a bit disappointed at that.  If I wanted Twilight Princess I could pick up the Wii version.
