Any relationship nintendo builds with third party developers is good.

Like the one they have with EA?

No need for remasters... I'm keeping my Wii U

Nintendo needs a porting studio. Maybe even 2 studios. Not just for Nintendo stuff, but they could have been in charge of multiple 3rd party games. They should have been doing this for Wii U from the get go. Nintendo should have used this company to get a port of Skyrim, GTA5, and Street Fighter 4. Nintendo should have been actively porting as many 3rd party games as possible once it was known that the 3rd party devs wouldn't do it themselves.

Aside from Tantalus, what other studio could be a good candidate for those porting jobs on Nintendo consoles?

Also, I would like to know how long did Tantalus take to remaster Twilight Princess. On Wikipedia, the list of games they've developed/ported in the past years is very slim.

I think that Nintendo should have built a 3rd party port team. 2 teams actually. These teams would be far more familiar with Wii U and what it is capable of than most 3rd party devs. They would know what Wii U can and can't handle and they'd be able to make it work. I think that this would have been the best option for Nintendo and even going forward with NX. This pretty much guarantees that NX gets the big games. Heck Nintendo could even offer their port teams to 3rd party devs if they struggle with the port. This ensures that NX gets the best ports possible and 3rd party devs get familiar with the hardware from the source.

Pretty sure Skyward sword HD is gonna be a NX launch Title. And it will look fantastic like WWHD style good.

Well, i want to see some Gamecube/Wii games era getting an HD remaster, they could use some studios like Tantalus/Straigth Right as Port/Remaster studios, combine that with the new games i you'll have a stedy stream of games for the next console.

Aside from that, they could use the same/other porting studios to support some Third Party games for the Nintendo console version.

I should state for the record that the rampant "remastering" of last gen games this gen disgusts me.

Regarding Wii U remasters on NX, I'm not saying I want it to happen, just saying that it's expected by many, and might be appealing to Nintendo as a way to boost sales of some of their lower selling/less profitable Wii U titles. Easy money, if you will.

Are we really totally ignoring the obvious example here? TP HD is and improved port of a game that I could just play on my wiiU natively.

That's exactly why people are expecting Nintendo to bolster up their lineup with a few remasters, because they are already doing it, and as you yourself pointed out have done it before too.

Anyways, I'm sure we will get plenty of exciting new games as well, so what's the problem with a few remasters?

wow, ONE WHOLE REMASTER, releasing more than 3 years later. Note my post, Nintendo only released a SIGNIFICANT amount of previous gen titles with the new play control series on wii. One game from 10 years ago is not a significant amount.

This gen has had a lot of remasters-remakes. On the WiiU we have WindWaker and Twilight Princess. On the 3DS, we have Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, StarFox 3DS, Pokemon ORAS, Xenoblade N3DS...

Only TP HD and XC are from the previous gen. Noticed?

Yeah. One whole remaster. It exists. Obviously it isn't some foreign concept to Nintendo.

And yes, I can see one or two WiiU remasters hitting the NX too, especially in case it isn't fully backwards compatible.

I'm sorry I just don't get what the fuss is about? I see absolutely no reason to get worked up about this. Nintendo might do a few remasters. Big deal.

On a side note, I feel like having tantalus ready as a third party relations/porting specialized studio to make sure the big third party hitters come to Nintendo systems would be a smart move as well.

Let's wait to see how well TPHD turns out before we give them Bluepoint honors. Remember that Bluepoint was known more for their engine at first before building up this HD remaster prowess, whereas Tantalus just for some reason got dibs on a Zelda game.
