Forums - PC Discussion - Rumor: HTC Vive price might be as high as $1,500

- according to estimates by foreign brokerages as reported by Focus Taiwan

- the good news in all of this is that there is literally a VR headset for every budget:

1) Google Cardboard can be built for free and

2) Samsung’s Gear VR is under $100

3) Oculus Rift jumps to $599 and

4) Sony’s Playstation VR is rumored to have a price tag anywhere between $800-$1,200

5) $1,500 HTC Vive is simply the most premium so far

- Android Authority says on HTC Vive:

In all fairness, I’d have to say it’s also the best VR experience you’ll find. I haven’t had a chance to try the final version of the Rift yet, but if it’s anything like the countless non-final versions I’ve demoed, it simply doesn’t stack up to the immersive smoothness of the Vive.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Wait, I thought Sony's was going to be closer to $400? That given estimate is absurd if they plan to sell more than a handful... Would someone really buy a peripheral worth two to three times the price of the console?

Granted VR is meant to be it's own experience, but i'd certainly not be interested in dropping that kind of money to play games limited by the PS4 hardware... I'd just go all out on the PC at that point.

wtf? isnt Sonys PS VR rumored to be 349$?
Razors OS VR is 300$

What are they smokeing?

The most premium VR experience you can find is Star VR. Dat shit is crazy.

I read in a german magazine (they tested both) that Sony’s Playstation VR is not sas good as the Oculus Rift, so I expect a price around 300$ and not more than the price of the Oculus Rift.

Hey guyz,

I estimate that it will cost $4352452480.

Quick, someone make an article.

I dont know where they came up with the PSVR number, but it wont be more expensive than Oculus. The Oculus boss itself said that PSVR was not as good as the Oculus, so it stands to reason that it will be cheaper, as Sony will try to cather more to the "casual" market.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

The PSVR rumor is BS. I never heard it before and I am pretty certain that in worst case it will cost 500$. Also it was obvious from day 1 that the HTC built device will be the most expensive from the bunch.

PS: Samsung Gear VR is a pretty weak excuse for virtual reality. I still havent tried out the latest one, but the previous entry was somewhat like a joke.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

$1,500? They really don't want this thing to sell...

androidauthority.com & Focus Taiwan are just trolling with clickbait "rumors & estimates" that are much higher than anyone else, to get site clicks.

Thats my opinion. I dont think you should reward sites like that with visits.
