VGC is now an island the size of Ireland off the coast of Europe, Our main exports are Fish and Rare Metals. The EU, ever hungry for more members, insists we get annexed join. A referrendum for membership is now taking place. Will you vote NO! or YES! ? 

I'd like to know your thoughts on the EU and if you'd give up your independece like your country to join/stay. I encourage serious discussion and stating of opinions. No fighting.

Personally, i'd vote NO!

Really hard to say without knowing much about our island nation.

What is VGC's economy based on? Energy? Agriculture? Industry? Commercial? Tourism? Banking?

What is the scale of our economy? Are we a major power like the United Kingdom or a tiny nation like, um, the Faroe Islands or something?

May seem pedantic, but my guess how most European countries think about it.

I vote YES.. So we can gives fines to Sony for monopolizing the market and we could swim in millions...

Meh, the E.U has been pretty good to my country so I vote to stay.

I could say we are the size of the island of Ireland... maybe we are rich in rare materials valuable for the production of advanced tech (such as phones, vidya and such) We could be focused on Services. We lack agriculture though.

Hopefully that's a good enough answer for you  for now. I'll think it about it more.

I'll vote to stay in EU. So I would want VG to join EU. 

No, and it pains me to say so.
The concept of European integration is a good one, but the Union now is an asocial, neoliberal mess of giant proportions.
If the Union would be remade among more democratic lines, with the principles of coöperation instead of competition, then it would be worth it.

But we don't know anything about the VGC economy

Seriously though, can't really make up an opinion on such a matter without knowing anything about the internal affairs of said hypothetical country.

So I say yes, but only if the EU acknowleges that since the VGCharts state counts only a few thousand people it can't recive more than a couple dozzins of immigrants.

Imho I find the EU a pretty amazing place, it's soooooooo good for cultural advancement, if it weren't for the current problems we would be in a way better spot, maybe we could even convince Switzeerland to join and give us some more $$$ :v I'd vote to stay, I don't see where Italy would be without the help from Bruxelles.
