55mil is a pretty obvious and safe prediction. IMO

Sounds pretty easy. The hard target to reach is 50m by Sept 31 2016 to beat the PS2.

Sony sold through 35.9M consoles by  Jan 3 2016, sold-in is around 37-38M. This means PS4 sold through 18.4M consoles in calendar 2015. With more games, big exclusives finally coming out, PSVR, more price reductions, possible Slim model, I'm expecting 19M if not more consoles sold in 2016.

 

17.4 million actually, 18.5m sold through on january 2nd 2015 and now at 35.9m. The difference is 17.4 m.

sounds about right.

i was expected a $100 price cut there year but we only got $50. that leaves me inclined to believe we'll get another $50 off next holiday. plus this year's exclusives/non-exclusives are just crazy: uncharted 4, rachet and clank, the last guardian, persona 5, the witness, no man's sky, street fighter v, gravity rush 1 and 2, dragon quest, horizon, rime, the tomorrow children, ect and so forth. maybe even a bit of a boost from psvr.

should be a good year for ps4. quite certainly it's peak year.

PS4 should do >20M this year, so I think 55M sell through is easy. 56+million is the challenge.
