I think VR like online and optical discs will be part of the future of gaming and Nintendo will be forced to adopt it at some point. How long it takes depends on how stubborn they are.

I would like Nintendo to focus on the meat and potatoes of the industry again before every delving into something that risky.
I'd only be okay with Nintendo trying their hand at VR is if they wait a generation for the technology to catch up to the concept and if the NX and their mobile ventures are so successful that they add 10-20 billion into their war chest. At that point though, I'd prefer if they bought more development studios and expanded their current studios.

Well they eventually decided to use mobile as a new platform for their IPs. Thus, it's not out of the realm of possibility. For now though, they should focus on NX, mobile, new account, and their other planned ventures to spread awareness of their IPs.
As for VR, it's probably too soon at the moment. As others have said, it's too expensive, requires a pretty good amount of equipment, and with some companies already getting into this particular market, it's not worth it. Nintendo wants to earn profits. They've done it for all but probably 2-3 years throughout their time at the game industry. Asking them to go into a new avenue and suffer probably a heavy loss is not logical. Let the tech grow and see how the potential audience reacts to this once the VR devices release. Is the type of audience there for profits to be made? We'll see.
Absolutely, because VR is going to flop and nintendo doesn´t need another flop
I'm one of the biggest Nintendo fanboys I know and I hate VR so much I wouldn't buy this. Games are meant to enhance your in person social interactions, not seclude yourself to some isolationistic getaway.
