Slim by far. So smooth looking! I went out of my way to get a Slim about 2 years ago. Found one brand new on Ebay.

There are stats everywhere about top loading vs. mechanical drives and it's universially accepted that top loaders will always outlast their inferior mechanical brothers. It's not even close. |
OK so ideally you would want a 500GB super slim. I never knew the type of drive made a difference
I got my phat ps3 in maybe July of 2008, still going strong and I love it. I got a super slim for my girlfriend and dealt with overheating and automatic shutdown issues. It was a dinky 12gb one because she doesn't need much space. I think it looks the nicest, but like everyone says, get one with 500gb. The 12gb one is missing a hard drive case so if you want to bump up your storage you'll need to buy one of those or just stand it upright and avoid and jostling.
Edit: I think it's called a hard drive chassis, not hard drive case.

At least the super slim design is decent, unlike with the PS4 which is outright impractical at times... |
Original > SS > S imo. I'd say PS4 is the prettiest of the 4. Not the most beautiful piece of tech ever, but the way you can customize it with parts makes it more pleasant to look at, giving it an edge. I really need to buy a colored case for mine now that I think of it.
i had a full FAT 60gb launch model and it was awesome but sadly it die. So i got a super slim and it works very well. i have it for 2 years now. i know the slim is sexier but the price difference was to big back then (210 euro vs 140 euro). if you can get one slim for about the same of a super slim, buy the latest slim version, witch had the CPU and GPU in 45nm which generates less heat than the first slim version that was in 65nm**, leading to a more quiet console.
** super slim is also 45, as a example i believe ps4 is 28nm, less is better in this matter
Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4
I got a 160 gb slim in summer 2011 and then later installed a 500 gb hard drive. It still works quite well. Sometimes the OS gets a bit slow but it still gets the job done.
Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.
Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

The prettiest PS console to me will always be the original PSOne. I never liked the PS4's slanted look and the ridges in the middle. The disc drive being in between the ridge LED makes it even worse and the overedge at the end look rather ugly to me...

1. I can actually afford to save up for a PS3
2. PS4 doesn't have PS3 BC, for all the PS3 exclusives I'd like to play
bet: lost

That's fair enough because the ps3 has a massive library. But ps now is on ps4 and it's getting bigger every month. The sub works out as 8$ a month so it might be better value doing that. Just a thought
