Also, that article is biased and has a dreadfully sensationalist headline. Even with the spin the "journalist" put on the information presented you can not defend that ridiculous title (clearly the only part that you read) and by extension your absurd claim that Sweden is becoming a third world nation. KungKras is correct in the assertion that Sweden is becoming less competitive than its neighbours partly due to the education reforms instituted by the previous government.

If you took the time to find better (IE. less biased, less sensationalist) articles and actually read the sources provided you could probably make a better argument. I say this because I myself am a moderately conservative individual (especially regarding immigration) and I find the situation in Sweden concerning as well as your attempts at debate.

Yes it's not as easy as just forcing people to live where the government  wants them to live. The problem today is that immigrants concentrate in the cheapest neighbourhoods in cities leading to even cheaper rents, culture clashes poverty and crime. What makes the problem bigger is that certain communes don't accept refugees at all.

The solution is to make every commune responsible for taking in refugees. And most importantly built the refugee camps away from the big cities. There is only one point where refugees can't choose where to go, and that is when they are assigned a refugee camp to stay at. If you build many small camps in the smaller cities and also in the north of the country, people will tend to stay where the infrastructure is in place to help them. If they get a job, they're also less likely to move into the big cities. Their kids will still have to go to school because it's illegal to keep children from going to school. If they're in a place where there are no immigrant heavy neightbourhoods, the kids will all naturally mix with the population in school.

To get back to your reformation point. The best way to combat radical islam is to create ex-muslims or secular muslims. And even if we're doing a bad integration job at the moment, 15% of second generation musims aren't really religious. Imagine if we did a good job.

Being here in Canada we took a rational policy of any families and mostly non Muslim Refugees from Syria.

Sure. Except for one fact, MOST SWEDISH MUSLUMS AREN'T SECOND GENERATION!!!! Do you realize that as ghetto's grow, integration will collapse? You'll see in 10-15 years. Islam will slowly take over Sweden. And as your women reproduce even less this generation, this process will speed up faster. Germany was finally smartening up and they closed their borders. I simply disagree. There are tons of things we can do to keep ghettos from growing. Like spreading out new arrivals over the country as much as possible. Segregation needs to be fought hard against because it is a big problem.

Really? They will slowly start to take over how? Do you have any idea how long it would take for muslims to breed us out of existance even if 85% of every new generation didn't secularize? Conversion? Vitually non-existent. We've already shook off an as agressively proselytizing, immoral and controlling religion called christianity. And that religion had the advantage of holding our society in an iron grip for hundreds of years. And now you're telling me that another religion that forbids alcohol and bacon is gonna succeed where christianity failed? Not gonna happen.

What is going to happen is that we are going to be remembered by a lot of families as the place that took them in when they were escaping hell.It would be nice though if the US could stop messing up the middle east so these people didn't have to flee in the first place.

Not that I agree or disagree, because I personally haven't looked deeply into this particular topic, however, I would caution anyone from using Wikipedia as a sole source of information.  There are very serious issues w/ that site, and more specifically it's staff who quite often edit pages in a not so ethical manner.  I only use Wikipedia for the source articles listed at the bottom.  It sucks not being able to trust these sites, but...when you can clearly see bias, misinformation or mischaracterization being supported and defended by the sites admin...it's time to ensure you're double-checking all the claims being made.

Escaping what hell? The majority are coming from turkish camps, and many are adult men who don't bring family! Its BS! Its just a cheap way to immigrate and live off your system.

Why cant progressives simply understand to take a smaller number of refugees, that can actually be helped.

If you invite to many, they all cannot be helped and you make the local populace angry and hostile.

Of course for progressives, such simple logic is beyond them.

It's a new situation, some countries are learning on the fly. 

In general though it's important to realize these are human beings and if we are to project ourselves as a modern society, then we need to treat people in a humane and decent way. 

Yes sure, more restrictions may be neccessary to better screen people, and beyond that to better integrate them when they do arrive. 

But becoming a cold group "angry and hostile" xenophobic assholes isn't the answer either. The fact is the overwhelming majority of people immigrating are decent people.
