What NX needs is software that people can't get anywhere else, not ports.

If so then nx is destined for failure, they them selves cant do it all and no 3rd party will take the risk neither would it be sensible with 3 other more viable and more frinedly platforms to support first.

*looks at the 3DS*

Mhm.

Im looking at it, yep not a console.

hum.

Rare Replay (with DK games and Goldeneye included) would probably easily outsell the Xbox version

NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, WiiU, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS, Mega Drive, Game Gear, PS1, PS2, PSP, XBOX 360, Atari Lynx

I think nearly all Japanense games are a given (Final Fantasy, Tekken)

As for the western side of things: pretty much anything by Activision-Blizzard. Overwatch feels very Nintendo-ish. Destiny could have an interesting new life on a Nintendo platform, especially with Miiverse involved. And a Diablo III port could still work out okay too. And like it or not, a new Nintendo home console *needs* Call of Duty to be relevant to the masses.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

How did you conclude any of that ?  For any of that to happen it would already have to be happening.  There is no finencial explenation that would justify making nx games already.  Japanese devs are notoriaus for their low transition to new hardware.  By the time nx might get any of that, it may be to late.

I agree with you on PvZ I don't understand why it wasn't on the wii u, it seems like a game that the wii u audience would love

PvZ not being on the WiiU? EA is why!

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Yeah I know, but it was a dumb choice to do so even if they hate Nintendo XD

Hmm...maybe it was Nintendo's dumb choice not to buy PopCap games when they were available for sale.  PvZ came out and was popular in 2009, EA bought them in 2011.

I don't know much about popcap but maybe Nintendo didn't buy them because they weren't interested in the mobile market at that point and didn't Popcap make all mobile games then..?

Ugh, personally I hate ports of old games as launch titles for a new console. It was terrible for the Wii U, and I would hate it again for the NX. Honestly, having some new games would be better than ports, but I feel that is for another discussion.

The most successful port would maybe be a.... COD game maybe? Or GTA5? I dunno. My response to porting a existing game usually is "...why? I can get X game on Y or Z console already. Why would I get it again..?"

I love most of the titles you list and would be appealing to me greatly, but this thread isn't about me, haha. Most people probably wouldn't care about these games...

Personally, an old port would still be interesting if it offered something new and fresh for the experience. For example, Resident Evil 4: Wii edition was great post-launch game, even if Re4 was released GC almost 2 years before - it had all the extras from the Ps2 version, plus wiimote controls. The same goes for some New Play Control games released by Nintendo, like Pikmin1/2 and Metroid Prime (though they were released later).

The problem is most WiiU launch games were old, half-assed and didn't add much to the original experience.
