Forums - Gaming Discussion - If Microsoft/Square had bundled FF-VII remake or FF-15 demo with Rise of the Tomb Raider, would Lara still have a Job?

Yes, sales would have been significantly better ...

if bundled with a demo/V-... 2 7.14%

If bundled with a Square ... 9 32.14%

Nothing could have saved ... 10 35.71%

I come to VGchartz for th... 7 25.00%

Total:28

I think bundling a demo for any highly anticipated game would have really helped its sale. Especially with something like a temporary beta that gives users a heavy incentive to get it now instead of later.

Yes, it may have done a little better. But what would have helped a lot is if Fallout 4 got cancelled.

They put a FF15 demo in FF Type 0 already. Awesome sales on Xbox One. Great results.

Would help for sure.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

yes.

Wouldn't helped a lot. Most Final Fantasy fans are on Playstation.

I don't think you can really argue that the demo didn't help sales. While the X1 sales were poor, that was a multiplatform game. Rise of the Tomb Raider wouldn't have that split.

Yes, but it clearly shows (as if we didn't know that already) that the JRPG audience is non existent on Xbox One. The games aren't there either. Don't think it would have help, what JRPG fan would buy a non-JRPG console and a non-JRPG timed exclusive game for a demo that would also in that case be available later on other platforms? If the Xbox owners are not interested at all and the potentially interested non-owners don't have enough incentives to buy the console, the demo is useless.

And FF7R is out of the question because it's a Sony marketing game and PS4 timed or console exclusive (and we're not even sure it will be on Xbox One, it won't IMO). Even the FF15 pre beta is only running on PS4 and PC atm according to one of the last development interview...

lol

Well it would certainly have helped to damage SEs´ rep with its` fans even more. In terms of sales ? I don´t know...maybe 5% more sales? As mentioned before type Zero failed epically on Xbone and FF7 associates itself with PS (timed, console or full exclusive) so that´s out of the question.
You know what really would have helped? IF MS didn´t pull this crappy "best holiday lineup" shit. Release TR between Halo and FO, or in December/January.

Yup...RO friggin rocked
