Forums - Gaming Discussion - Your biggest 2015 disappointments?

Zelda being delayed till 2016 cause I mean, I'm not a huge Zelda fan but I was really looking forward to this one.

No new huge announcment for the Wii U coming from a first party developer. (EX, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem etc)

That 30fps lock, sure it got modded but the devs didn't patch it out or patch in a 60 option.

Could be worse, could have been sub 20fps. 30fps is stable framerrate!

I know we had this talk on Skype already =P.

I just don't like 30fps or fps locks in general tbh and not fixing them irks me the most.

The past two years have been really crap IMO gaming wise, so many disappointments. But for me the biggest thing is just the complete and utter lack of anything AAA that's appealing to me to make me wanna play. Battlefront has no single player so is an instant fail, I despise Bethesda and their complete lack of quality control, coupled with the way people go gaga over their games just baffles me, they're so boring, and most of the questing is crap. Oh and gameplay of Bethesda RPG's is truly diabolical. MGSV holds no interest with it being open world, MGS is supposed to be about the story, and open world games suck for the most part in the story department, plus all the hoo har around the game and the reported unfinished state of the game. Then pretty much everything else was from the beginning of the year when I was broke, and I've already waited so long, may as well wait until their super cheap, especially with what's coming in 2016.

Then from what I have played:

Need for Speed: IF you're a drift nut it's great, but trying to race properly is crap, also a distinct lack of customisation options for most cars outside of the GT86/BRZ clones and a select few other cars, despite all the marketing being about the customisation, granted the lasted update has improved things a touch, it's still not good enough. Then the car list is kinda poor, for a street racer that's all about customisation and such I'm really not interested in supercars like Ferrari's and Lambo's, give me more Japanese car, Muscle cars and European hot hatches please. Also the livery editor is unbelievably frustrating, and it was better way back in 2007 with Pro Street FFS.

The Order, I was mostly disappointed that they didn't give you a weapon wheel and kept adding to it as you discovered each new weapon, it would make the gameplay a lot lot better by facilitating the variety each weapon gave. Other than that I think it was a pretty good game, though the Elder Halfbreeds boss fights could have been better, should have just given you more control of the movement and attack opportunities, and then had QTE's for dodging attacks. But that's pretty much my complaints, I really want a sequel.

FIFA 16, The passing is utter shit, it's so inconsistent, and makes a sometimes frustrating online experience mostly infuriating. Manager mode is still crap, except they made it even easier to grow players with training (a much needed feature mind, just needs expanding on) and they've gone from super unrealistic plater decline post 30, to even more unrealistic growth (like seriously, why does Schweinsteiger and Rooney both continue to grow 3/4 points until they are 33/4 and not even start declining unless they get injuries until they're pretty much 36?

And Finally, Bloodborne, whilst a lot of this is maybe my fault, as Demon's Souls and Dark Souls were so outstanding and easily the best games in the past decade, lead to perhaps ridiculous levels of excitement, so when it ends up so short (in reality it's longer than Demon's but Demon's has more replay-ability due to the Tendency system unlocking different things, and the fact it was my first one, so I struggled, big time, which didn't help with game length) and so lacking in replay due to how poor the weapon progression is, how few weapons there are, and how few ways to play there are. Magic play is basically non existent, and to actually do an Arcane build is a pain the arse as you have to go into the damn Chalice dungeons which are massively shit and tedious and annoying to get good gems for the build. Bloodtinge builds in base game have one melee weapon, and even post DLC is poor as there are still only 2 melee weapons for the build, and only one spell. At least give a couple more weapons for the build, i mean damn, the builds are so punishing anyway due to the high bullet consumption. The only reason to do a tinge build is to rek Ebritas and Amygdala. Also character quests are poor compared to past From games. Also most of the truly ace bosses are locked in the chalice dungeons. Watchdog is sooo good, such a great fight, but having to make dungeons and go through them to fight him is awful. Have I said how crap the Chalice dungeons are? Yeah they're awful.

Most of everything else I've player I weren't really hyped for.

In no particular order:

Rainbow Six Siege glitches. The game is so good, it's about the closest we have seen to a SOCOM successor since SOCOM II. But it's an Ubisoft title so OF COURSE it's extremely rough around the edges. Loads of UI glitches, problems getting into games. The biggest glitch is when you enter a room and all the barricades are still intact and then you get killed by a dude and on his kill cam the barricade he is sitting outside of has huge holes punched through it.

The Order. Not only because it was a bad game, but it's fucking sad imho that they would even release it in the state it was in. It's not a launch game, it's insulting that they'd try to sell us a $60 tech demo.

Just Cause 3. The sequel was so amazing... my first PS3 plat IIRC. This one was made by a different company and while it's a fun romp and a decent sandbox game, it does not have the unique flare of JC2 and does not keep you coming back for more.

Go Nintendo! At least you are going to win this!

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I want to add the fact that 2015 came and went and Sony did nothing to improve their controller. That's disappointing. My son was complaining that the stick was worn on the controller so for Christmas I got him a new red one. We haven't used it much and tonight I was playing in my online Madden franchise and noticed there is a large chunk already missing off the new analog stick. Ridiculous. It can't cost that much more for them to include something that doesn't fail so quick.
