Sony can bring back Crash and the internet would explode.

I think more only Sony fans who were around long enough to know what Crash is would explode.

Yeah.. look at the reaction to Shenmue, Crash has a more recent and bigger fanbase.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

The statements made were more aking if I thought no one cared about the Final Fantasy remake. Well yes, there is a TON of hype for the FFVII remake, but to think Crash will get even a tiny bit of the same hype is pretty silly.

Because you said you think only Playstation fans old enough to remember Crash will care about Crash. That may be true, but there are quite a lot of Playstation fans old enough to remember Crash, so that point is moot.

Anywho, I stand by the fact that Crash would be a frikkin bomb, NX and Zelda won't because once again, we all know it's coming.

Exactly.

Just like "The Last Guardian" trailer was more like a "FINALLY" moment instead of a "HOLY SHIT! MEGATON!" situation.

If Nintendo decides to participate on this years E3, NOT a Direct but a proper E3 Conference, they need more than a Zelda Wii U trailer to dare to proclaim as a winner of the show.

They could make a case with a Metroid U unveiling and/or a Pokemon MMO or something "Megaton" worthy. But not a trailer of a game that has been shown since fucking 2012.

So you think if Sony waited until this year and Nintendo had NX and Zelda, TLG would even be a blip on the radar?

Honestly, i dont think The Last Guardian can compete with a proper Zelda game.

If each game would be the conference highlight for Sony and Nintendo, i would proclaim winner the Nintendo conference.

What i meant was that Nintendo needs more than a game that everyone knows that is coming to win the show. Zelda wont do it, unless Micrososft and Sony dont show anything on their conferences.

Agreed if games were the highlight. Loz will be the highlight for Nintendo's software, but I think the show stealer is going to be the NX. If it were a competition of Zelda Vs NX, which has the more hype, I'm pretty sure it'd be the NX. LoZ is just the icing on the awesome cake.

And look at the sales for Zelda and Crash, as well as the metas. Zelda always comes out on top.

Yes. Nintendo. Next or previous.

No, Nintendo is going to at THIS E3. See that's why the others should wait to show off the smaller things they got until the next event. You caught up?

The millions of people buying consoles and games don't care about NX and Zelda U, nor do the majority of people watching E3. That's why Nintendo should show off the smaller things in something more Nintendo specific for its limited intended audience. You caught up?

Exactly, but no one can really deny that Sony won last E3, or Nintedo the year before that. What I'm saying is of course people are going to not be excited about some htings as others, but there are usually pretty clear winners of E3.

Just a question ...

If Sony happens to win this year's E3 as if most people here proclaimed so, are you going to concede to that result despite your initial preliminary outlook ?

Someone made a thread not so long ago asking if VgCharterz were:

A) Hyped, or

B) Just Curious

of the NX.

The majority of the people went with option B.

Im not saying that the NX could not win the show, of course it can. An amazing reveal could turn the ship to the Nintendo side BUT this is Nintendo we are talking about.

Knowing Nintendo like people do, i would be more hyped of their software than their hardware. The latter is always VERY underwhelming.

I hope they prove me worng, like i said: Im Curious.

They may as well pull a Sony E3 2014 and not really do much of anything. LoZ and NX, let's face it nothing is going to beat that combination. It's not just because I'm a Nintendo fan either. They have shown nothing of LoZ Wii U, so it isn't going to have that same feeling as more Uncharted 4 news, where yes it's exciting but we already know a LOT about the game. Halo 5 is already released, so obviously Halo isn't going to be a factor. Add in that we will more than likely see the LoZ tech demo for NX, which is always exciting.

Then just the NX in general. I mean what has had more threads created ever? There is so much speculation, hope, and tension that has been going on since it was talked about that I literally can't think of anything that has gotten more media attention ever. Not even their move to mobile or their deal with Universal Studios.

So is their anything the other two can do? Or should they more just go and please their fanbase but hold back a few huge titles for a later event where it won't get outshined?

I honestly think Sony with its game lineup can generate more hype, than people will have for a new nintendo console.

Its not a done deal yet, but yeah it ll take some effort, however holding back things on purpose seems like a bad idea.

I say go all out, do a repeat of the magic that was sonys E3 2015.

This is how Sony wins it:

Slim model of the PS4 (and a small price cut)

VR headset launch and all the game titles for it.

Crash reboot and some new IPs + showing game trailers for all the upcomeing games.

Honestly PS4 has so many new exciteing games comeing out, that they can drown out the "buzz" a new zelda game from Nintendo, would make.

I wouldn't say it's impossible, I just don't see a lineup they can announce in that would be better. Crash alone isn't going to outdo the hype. Neither is a hum drum lineup like Crash, COD, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, there could not be a more defining meaning of the word mediocre (outside of Crash, which I think could generate actual hype). In reality what I can see is Suikoden VI or a true sequel to Lunar, Legend Of Dragoon, and Crash would compete hell yeah. Realistically I don't think it's going to happen, and even if it did it'd just be my opinion. Suikoden VI and Lunar (as much as I'd LOVE for them to be a worldwide phenonenon) isn't really that popular mainstream. They died for a reason.

What lineup could really outdue a console reveal? It would take a LOT. And if people don't think Nintendo are going to come with their A game on software reveals for NX when it is announced, they're crazy. At least I really hope they are, because they REALLY need to. Half of what will be shown at the other conferences (COD, Assassin's Creed) will more than likely be contenders to show up on the NX anyways.

I'm not sure what we're talking about, exactly.

"Winning" on online forums?  Sure, Sony/Microsoft could win if Nintendo pulls another Wii U.  People are going to be even more cynical this time around.

On VGC?  Heh.

In terms of consumer impact?  Yes.  Sony and Microsoft could continue to produce games that push console sales while Nintendo's carry-over fanbase is potentially at a low point.  The market might not even blink.
