The Last Story wasn't made by Monolith Soft. It was made by a third-party developer called Mistwalker. Nintendo doesn't make any call on Mistwalker philosophy when making games.

I really enjoyed The Last Story and would LOVE a sequel or spiritual successor for Wii U or NX.

Well, looks like a pretty comfortable win for The Last Story.
Makes sense as it was the more critically acclaimed and higher selling of the two.

Well, acording to this very site, if we include the other Opertaion Rainfall game (Xenoblade), The Last Story is the higher selling of the three. :)

Now answering the question, i love both games, and i want sequels for both, but if i only can choose one, my choice is The Last Story, i love the characters, the Story and setting, it is my most wanted sequel since the annoucement of Wii U, and i hope (i pray every night) for a sequel on NX........ Please Nintendo!! Do it!!!
