Forums - Gaming Discussion - OK sony, xbox and nintendo fans. Put up or shut up.

I see these list wars all the time regarding console exclusives and thinking maybe some people are interested in these games being listed. However, looking at the sales of these games and I have to shake my head. Do you think these gaming companies make these games just for list wars? They need to sell a certain amount of units to justify a sequel or else the sequel will never happen. Look at Sunset Overdrive and Bayonetta s. Great games that won't get a sequel more than likely. If you want new ips or great exclusives you need to either buy the game or shut up and enjoy rehashed games.

Now that we see the problem, what are we going to do about it?

You think we aren't buying the games we want to see get sequels??

so have you bought Tomb Raider then and Forza 6 then?

I'll buy what I want. I have no control what others buy

That's kinda hard. Nintedo fans usually only buy Nintendo made first party games and Xbox fans mostly just play halo gears and cod and maybe a couple of sports games. Even on PlayStation it's getting harder and harder for smaller, niche games to sell enough to warrant a sequel. Tearaway unfolded for example sold horribly as well as a number of Japanese games like dragon quest heroes, tales of zestiria, disgaea 5, etc.

Yes I bought every game I just listed but the majority does not care for them sadly. So it looks like it's more of the usual halo, cod, gears, ass creed, sports, racing, and other milked crap we've had for the past decade since that's what sells most and truly unique games go by the wayside :(

Software sales aren't the only reason to make a game. Sometimes it's to appease a vocal fanbase, or give the impression that these multi-billion dollar corporations actually give a fuck about our feelings.

You think Nintendo bankrolled Bayonetta 2 or localized Fatal Frame 5 thinking they would sell Mario Kart numbers? You think Sony thought Puppeteer would be the next Mario Bros? These companies aren't quite that naive, they knew when they signed off on these games that they were not goldmines. They did it for their image, to be able to brag about their "diverse" lineup of exclusives and say "see, we listen to our fans!"

Seriously though, if you don't want lists stop making stupid posts without evidence.

If you say shite like Y has no games, Z has more, prepare to get a long ass list about how many games Y has and how much more it has than Z. THen defend against it with posts like oh but Y has none of the games I like or indies, or post a thread like please stahp posting lists.

I do buy the games I'm interested in. Unfortunately, many of 'em do not sell above 200k in the West, if that. That's just the nature of it. I can't change what people buy (nor would I want to), though I certainly would like to see the franchises (and would be franchises) that I do support become successful if they can so I can see more of it made (or localized). I can only do my part.
