Forums - PC Discussion - Steam Survey – 29% Of Steam Users Running Win10, 54% Owning NVIDIA GPU, 67% Owning DX12 System

Was first surprised by the low Nvidia percentage and then remembered they also count Intel GPUs. Nice to see that Win 10 is growing fast. We need devs to jump on DX12 soon.

Steam’s November 2015 Hardware Survey has been revealed and some really interesting details can be extracted from that survey.

Oh, one of the rare months, where Valve lists the GPU shares in total (instead of splitting them up in DX11, DX10, DX9), very nice! This list also contains GPUs with percent shares down to 0.15%, in the DX11-list, all GPUs below 0.30% are hidden in "Other".

The R9-300 series and the Fury series are still not listed, so they are probably still under 0.15%. But the R9-200 series got a good boost (perhaps R9 200+300 are counted together for now):

The GTX 970 also got a good boost from 3.50% (September) to 4.00% and is now officially the most popular GPU on Steam (the Intel 4000 series is down from 3.87% to 3.59%). Neither GTX 950 nor the GTX 980 ti seem to have reached at least 0.15% yet:

IF (and that's a big "if") the account growth on Steam has been steady at 5 million per month, the number of gaming PCs on Steam which can compete with the PS4 power, should be around 30 million by now. I really hope that Valve updates the number of active Steam accounts soon!

Windows 10 has now surpassed 200 million installations (according to the site WinBeta):

It's only useful for Windows 10 and Xbox One. Microsoft will always favor Xbox One over Windows 10 PC's. I would rather support Vulkan for better multiplatfom support (more PC games).

It's quite interesting that 67% of users have a DX12 capable card as only Nvidia's 7xx and 9xx series support it and for AMD cards it's from the 7xxx series onwards. I think Inteld doesn't support DX12 by now.

That means that a lot of people have relatively new hardware.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I used Windows 7 up until November (I hated 8). I decided to try out 10 because I was bored one night, and was pleasantly surprised by the GUI and features.

Windows 7 till I die

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
