The video appears to be showing xb1 live gameplay and theater mode vs 360's theater mode.
Since I've never used theater, I don't think I can make a fair assessment. Maybe a video of Xbox One gameplay, a video of Xbox 360 running on disc, and a video of Xbox 360 running on the HDD would paint a clearer picture? In any case, "unplayable" send like a gross exaggeration.

OT: The game studders a lot more than its 360 counterpart (which do studder sometime), but its far from unplayable. Oversensitive reviewers is my guess :).

I'm glad BC works. I'm also a known hater of Halo: Reach, so I'm glad that game doesn't work. 
At least it plays. If it's THAT bad, don't play it and just pretend it's not BC.😘
Never played the game on 360, so I wouldn't know how they compare. Halo hasn't really been a game of interest to me.

That video in the OP titled the game is unplayable... which features 3 mins of the guy playing it.
I'm confuse.
To be honest if it has a few hiccups here and there while giving X1 owners over 100 extra titles they can be enjoying while the software library of the new gen fills in the gaps then that is still a great thing, I'd be shocked if there isn't many reaction videos to this of people putting various ps3 games into their ps4s to show what actual unplayable looks like.
I guess at the end of the day tho.. it is kotaku trying to drum up some clicks, this must always be remembered when it comes to their "news"

PS2 and Wii did BC perfectly, aside from a tiny number of games not working. XB1 BC isn't that great since only a few titles work and lots of titles I'd want probably won't get added like blue dragon, eternal sonata, and other early Japan 360 games.
