Halo 5 is an excellent game. The campaign is great, the multiplayer is amazing and all that in 60fps glory.

If Halo 5 ends up not selling as much as other Halo games it has nothing to do with the quality of the title but everything to do with X1's reputation.

The multiplayer is amazing but the campaign is ok.

The multiplayer is ok, for me it's lost it's identity as its has become closer to the Call of Duty experience. I don't dislike call of duty, some of the elements added in Halo 4 like the load outs and grenade indicator I liked. But Halo 5 scrapped all of that and then went backwards. That kills it for me.

I still don't get the major obsession some people have with 60 FPS in games and what it really adds overall. Maybe that it's just because by contrast I prefer greater graphical fidelity, or because unless there are really major frame rate crashes the higher rate isn't that noticeable.

H5 was crap to be honest, having played the MCC before it really showed how spectacularly bad the 5th installment was. The pathetic 5 hour single player that's nothing but run for point a to b a few times and fight the same guy 12 times. To the nonsensical story unless you watched a movie read a book and went through a few comics.

This game made me regret wasting cash on a x1.

Lets not forget the BS commercials the blatant false advertising that have absolutely nothing to do with anything in the game. Master Chief killing civilians lol when the fuck does that happen in the 5 mediocre hours of game time ? the alluded big showdown between him and Lock a god damn lol cringe worthy minute long fist fight. Total horse shit, they sold me on a epic space drama of betrayal and all i got was a 5 years old -c grade school story.

Holy cats, people aren't even skimming the OP, they're just running with their preconceptions and jumping down to the comment box.

On topic, it's hard to achieve greatness and even harder to replicate greatness. The problem with story-driven content that thrives on being epic is that you lose a lot of steam when it turns into a "further adventures of" series. The main character becomes a Mary Sue and the thrills become progressively less thrilling, even as the writers try harder to hit those epic notes once more. Everything becomes muddled and often contradictory.

So your real gripe is with Bungie for making Halo 2?

So halo got rid of load outs which apparently makes it closer to cod? What?

Funny thing is that Halo 4 momentarily brought back my faith in the Halo series. It still had many issues present in previous installments (and by far the worst friendly A.I. yet, running into walls and showing other signs of disorientation), but it brought back the sense of scale and seclusion from the first game. I thought that 343i understood what Bungie had forgotten long ago.

Then I saw the intro cutscene for Halo 5 and knew that the series was gone forever.

Actually thats exactly what people wanted, not Cod wanna be Shit 5 hour nonsensical story that H5 was.

H5 has literally nothing epic about it, and none are bored of MC.  But the shit characted that Locle is was tiresome after 15 minutes.  ANd being forced to play as him for th emajority of theime is one of th ebiggst faults of the game.

Id kill for 10/12 hours of more of the same that H2/H3 was.

I wasn't around when the originals came out, but I have an Xbox console for the first time, and I have to say I enjoyed Halo 2 much more than 1. I had to drag myself through 1 as I found it boring sometimes, but 2 was interesting throughout, it helped that the graphics were redone for X1 I imagine.

Just my 2 cents, I am in no way a Halo superfan. I've completed the first two games from the mcc.
