Forums - Nintendo Discussion - You are now appointed to be Nintendo's President, what would you do?

1. Get out of the home console business immediately and focus on multi-platform software.
2. Make a good handheld gaming device.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

I'd buy 2 million dollar-houses in Miami.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

1. Move away from Miyamoto who has been overrated for over 2 decades now.

2. Finally move away from Mario and allow other characters to shine.

3. Establish many new franchises from different genres, for different audiences and hire western developers to make more than Japanese games. That is desperately needed.

4. Stop being so darn cheap and actually spend money on hardware development as well as investing in new software technology to build more advance games with a modern engine that does not feel and look like it is from the early 2000s.

5. Hire experts to finally give Nintendo a decent network with all the updated features to bring their online community into the current century.

6. Hire new a new blood of younger talent to stay up to date with modern trends and consumer demands.

7. Stop creating gimmick controllers and make something that actually feels good to hold in your hand for all types of games.

8. No more crappy names like GameCube, Wii, or WiiU.

9. Get rid of those annoying anti consumer policies for things such as YouTube.

10. Listen to third party developers like others have when designing their new console to make sure it accommodates them so that the new system will get good third party support and actually market those third party games.

As long as the power is up to par or beyond, with a traditional controller available on the side (must properly host 3rd parties), I'm not opposed to Nintendo having a unique interface. Nintendo just has to make sure its fun, able to revisit over and over, and cater to most genres. MSony are the established, "serious" consoles. Nintendo should act like the other two as a basis, but IMO must also introduce a fresh experience for their own games. You can call it, "Wii" (rebranded obviously) with power. This way, they can serve everyone to the meximum (unlike Wii U, who tried to serve everyone at the minimum).

And now culturally, take the Splatoon example. This will be tough for the Japanese company to swallow, but follow the youthful minds, and push the geriatrics to the business side and away from game & hw design.

That's my solution = If you build it, they will come. No real need to buy any exclusives or flailing studios.

-Step down Aonuma and put someone capable of leading the franchise.
-Start development of a new Metroid Trilogy.
-Make IS develop a real PM TTYD sequel and a HD FE.
-Monolith works in Xenoblade 3.
-Miyamoto is nowhere near the hardware R&D.
-Develop Melee 2.
-Develop MK64-2
-Beg Cammie to come back to the marketing area.

In other words, you'd make me quit gaming. congrats

Why exactly? Do you want another gimped console to have compatibility to the Wii U?

You didn't liked Mk64 or Melee? You dont't want an HD FE, a sequel to TTYD or a new Metroid Trilogy?

Wouldnt you like a 3rd installment in the Xenoblade universe?

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

-Lower license rates to the lowest/most competitive level in the industry amongst MS and Sony. This basically ensures 3rd party support across the board - as long as NX specs wise is even with PS4/X1
-Make a deal with Disney/EA for exclusive Star Wars series of games
-Make a deal with Square Enix for a new exclusive Chrono game
-Develop a racing sim series to compete with Forza, Gran Turismo and others. I'd call it "Excite" (after ExciteBike/ExciteTruck)
-Buy one or two AAA studios out of nowhere (Ready at Dawn, CD Project Red, Rocksteady, etc)
-Super Smash Warriors by Koei Tecmo
-Super Smash Bros Trading card game
-Fire Emblem vs Soul Calibur exclusive by Bandai Namco
-Remind Capcom to get their shit together and make Megaman Legends 3
-Continue MH exclusivity
-Home console Pokemon RPG
-Put million dollar prizes out for Smash, Splatoon, and the Nintendo World Championship

Most everything else is going just fine

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I don't know about stepping down Aonuma. Maybe if you don't like him delaying games due to wanting to do more with Zelda U..But even that shows that Zelda U could be the most ambitious project Nintendo has ever partaken (even moreso than Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time). Plus, he made Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, A Link Between Worlds, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword. That's mightily impressive, even if some of them took a long time to develop. To me, he's done good so far.

Fire Emblem, historically, hasn't done particularly well on home consoles. I mean, Radiant Dawn was on the Wii and it barely sold half a million. The three highest selling games from the franchise are from handhelds (will be four once If/Fates releases in the US and other regions outside of Japan).

Miyamoto already mentioned he's not involved in the hardware process. He's helping the younger generation of developers to become future leaders.

I also don't know about Melee 2..especially since we've just got a game that includes Mario, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, Sonic, Cloud, and Bayonetta in the same game. Unless you're talking about gameplay mechanics, then I wouldn't mind.

Damn, how can some of you easily say to ditch Mario?

Mario is basically the face of Nintendo. Remove him and you spelled out the end.

Stop making so many mario games? Sure. Put it in the grave? No no no no no.

No.
