Like you play this new IP, totally awesome game, and then the devs go and make a sequel that turns out to be a shitty and disappointing effort. Have you felt like that for a sequel before?
I do. That happened to me when I played Devil May Cry 2.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Dragon Age 2 screwed all of the boring out of the first one, which was nice.
Oh yeah and FFXV screwed all of the hetero out of all the previous games.

From the games I've played, the one that strikes me the most is Epic Mickey 2. The first game wasn't the best thing ever but it had potential to become a good franchise. But then they released the sequel, which was really short, had terrible AI, the camera problems from the first game got even worse, and they thought it was a good idea to put songs in the game. It was just terrible, and the studio that made it actually closed too.

not really sequels, but further installments in the series.
Gothic 4 (1,2 were awesome, 3 was great, 4 was ...)
Harry Potter PC Games (first 3 awesome, 4-8 awfull)
Guild Wars 2 (liked 1 much, much more. 2 wasnt "bad" though)
