Disney acquisition strategy has been for IP ownership that they can leverage in their parks, cruises, tv channels, etc and content delivery. That was reiterated by Disney's CFO earlier this year when they acquired Maker studio. Iger has been an excellent CEO and I have no doubt they are looking to expand. Major IP owners are likely a target. I think Mattel and Hasbro would be good acquisitions, and probably expected at some point. Something that would set the world on fire would be Disney acquiring DC from WB or Nintendo (gasps).

Not a very good comparison. Apple is much more profitable while Disney's studio only had an operating income of $1.5B during the last fiscal year despite the releases of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Maleficent and Frozen. |
I would guess if you average all of their movies, they have a profit margin of ~25-30%, so in that sense, they are comparable.

Finding Dory, Civil War, Dr Strange, Rogue One?
The best Disney movies were the ones released when Walt was alive imo.

Post-Walt are just as great :). Pixar/Disney animations for example.
