Could we all appreciate Ratatouille and Wreck-it Ralph?

They were probably two of the most innovative movies Disney has ever made. Frozen and Tangled were so overrated. I honestly think a movie where a rat cooks and a bunch of nostalgic characters in one movie are much more creative than the typical princess and prince love stories.

No one waits over 5 hours for a rat cook,  but they have for a Frozen princess.. That's worth some amount of appreciation right there.

Disney has 3 -possibly 4 movies that will gross over $1 billion worldwide in 2016.

By years end though, 3 of the top 4 will be Disney

Age of Ultron and Star Wars and?

I was thinking domestic numbers when it's global, inside out won't pass minions ww total though it is ahead domestically.

This year has been Universal's year - 3 moviesinthe Top 5 grossing movies of the year.

Universal - $6,475,661,921 box office gross, across 21 movies released in 2015. An average of $308,364,853 per movie.
Disney - $4,535,004,405 box office gross, across 11 movies released in 2015. An average of $412,273,128 per movie.

(and Star Wars is still playing.)

I wouldn't say that it has been Universal's year.

Actually, it has. Even though Disney's 2015 movies average a higher gross /movie, that comes from very high budget movies, while Universal has had some huge hits this year with relatively small budgets (  Minions, Pitch Perfect 2, Fifty Shades of Grey, Straight Outta Compton). Also , you have to bear in mind some downright flops coming from Disney, such as Tomorrowland and The Good Dinosaur, which lost them a good chunk of money.

Even with the Juggernaut that The Force Awakens is, Universal will probably have made more profit in 2015 than Disney, when speaking of movies.

Inside Out.

Inside Out didn't even cross the $1B mark.

I just watched it two days ago. I loved inside out. Such a creative movie. Don't see how it didn't get one billion

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Disney also has a recent history of almost one big bomb a year (Tomorrowland, The Lone Ranger, John Carter, Mars Needs Mom). I'm thinking The Finest Hours will be the the Disney bomb for 2016.

Well at least it made some good money The Good Dinosaur kinda bombed.

Star Wars will easily top the list soon enough.
